Great accessory, functional & fun!
It’s fairly easy to use, the power button is the same as the button you use to adjust the winch.. and I feel that sometimes the button press doesn’t register. I wish there were two buttons and a better battery indicator. In the video I submitted, the wind was measuring 3mph and the bottle had roughly 2oz of water in it. I was flying the drone in normal mode, but I don’t see a problem with flying in sport mode - so long as you don’t do crazy maneuvers. It’s incredibly easy to attach to the drone, fits great and there are no screws required. The value for money is good, so long as you have a use for it. The functionality would be better if you could adjust the “time to drop” or “drop maneuver.” For example- bobbing up and down repeatedly, instead of spinning in a circle for ~10 seconds to release the payload. Spinning in a circle makes you lose sight of the payload in certain conditions due to the drone trying to compensate for the wind.

Works Well!
This is a really sweet airdrop system! The airdrop system fits perfectly around my Avata 2. It took all of 2 minutes to get it tightened up and the string wound on it. There is a button on the side of it that rotates the string to get it properly set. The instructions are clear and helpful in getting everything set up, even explaining how to properly set the load behind the drone to not have it fly off at takeoff. I did however think this would have a way to connect to my controller for a button sync for dropping the load, but it actually just tells you to set the drone to hover and spin it in place to lower the load. It works really well, but I thought it worked a bit differently. Overall though I am happy with its performance. I also really like that it can have another camera mounted on top of the Airdrop system. It gives me a good reason to go get a new action camera.

FLYDrone Avata 2 Airdrop System
This system is great for dropping small payloads. I was afraid that if I bought the kind with the remote switch, that i might get out of range, but this unit removes that possibility. If you're flying the drone, you can drop. Sometimes it can be a little tricky to get it to drop, you hover and spin and spin, but no drop. Then you spin again, and it drops fine. I've never had it drop early. You can't lift much weight because of the drone's capability, but it will carry small bottles of water with ease. The release mechanism is just a hook that will rotate when you spin. When the drone comes back, you have to manually push the button to get the hook to go back to the top. It's a good affordable system that really adds a lot of fun to drone flying.

An Easy to Attach and Useful Airdrop Drone System
The Flydrone airdrop system is easy to attach and useful if you want to expand what the Avata 2 can carry. It comes in a sturdy box with the release unit, mounting pieces, and the tripod adapter all laid out cleanly. Snapping it onto the drone took only a moment, and the bracket holds tight without shifting during takeoff. The plastic feels firm enough for light payloads, and the wiring clips in without fuss. In the air, it behaves the way you’d expect. I tested it with a small fishing line setup and a lightweight delivery test load, and the drone stayed stable. The release responds quickly once triggered, and it drops the item cleanly without sticking. The weight limit is modest, but fine for bait drops or small accessories. The added tripod adapter is handy if you use an Action camera, and it attaches firmly without wobbling. Day-to-day use has been reliable. The system doesn’t interfere with the drone’s sensors, and it stays locked in place even after multiple flights. It’s easy to remove as well, so you don’t feel stuck flying with it full-time. I didn’t notice any odd vibrations or flight drift. One drawback is battery impact. Even a small payload cuts into flight time, so it’s best for short drops rather than long-distance runs. Overall, this airdrop system works well for fishing, small deliveries, or hobby testing.
