The book is a fantastic gateway for a beginner into the world of philosophy. It is basically Philosophy for Dummies. In old days DK would make the best Encyclopedias. Today the publication has adapted to the demands of the time and continues to produce top notch quality knowledge books.The packaging by Amazon seller was good and the product was delivered in a great condition.

This book is ideal for understanding fundamentals of philosophy.

Great content, beautiful illustrations, succinct explanations. I would recommend buying the physical book over the Kindle edition as the glossy pages and colourful pictures have their own charm. As for the content, there book summarizes the key work of some top philosophers spanning Eastern and Western philosophy, and covering from ancient and medival to the modern and contemporary world. I wish there was more representation of Indian philosophy in the book though, but that's a separate issue.

Good way of presentation in a book form availability

An awesome book, dont be fooled in thinking that it is a colourful and pictorial book ment for kids, it is not. It is an amazing book by some crazy awesome intellectuals for the intellectuals.It has a concise explaination of almost every philosophical idea known to humanity (the ones that matter), and also with art work in the book which make you stare at it and think, and then bring a smile on your face.

I love the quality of this book. It has glossy pages and smells good too :D. This book is for high-school students and if you are in college, don't expect this book to be an easy short-cut to learn theory/philosophy. It is not very detailed and only provides a very brief idea about the subject. But I'm still happy with this book. Will definitely buy more books from the series.

The Philosophy Book: Big Ideas Simply ExplainedI got this for a 3rd year Philosophy student. I don't think it has anything she hasn't studied alreadybut it's a great quick reference companion. I has lots of charts and pictures, and I love charts.The new gen doesn't seem to have a non digital book culture like I did back in the day.Still I'm sure she'll put this one to good use. The quality of the book construction is also very good.

I'm really enjoying DK's surveys of topics that I'd generally consider beyond me. This book, in particular, went way beyond just laying out facts and gave me a lot to think about. While the book focused on the people it provided enough interesting ideas to cause me to explore other sources and ideas.The biggest impact for me has been an understanding that, while I may disagree with a philosophical concept, I can respect the ideas, how they might have developed over time and how the might explain an idea I might have previously rejected without thought.A fun and interesting read.

Un libro generalista que servierá muy bien para tener un visióno general de filosofía tanto en el mundo occidental como oriental (aunque que duda cabe el sesgo es más occidental). Tiene una estructura que me gusta bastante porque dedican una longitud proporcional a la importancia del filosófo en cuestión y además sigue un enfoque cronológico por eras que ayuda a tener una visión evolutiva del pensamiento.

très bien fait, simple à lire et à comprendre, surtout pour des personnes comme moi toujours pris par le temps (boulot et enfant) - et avec le confinement en ce moment je prend le temps de bien le lire, y compris la notice de ma TV.

Book is great, looks appealing yet has a school / manual kind of feel.The book was to be a present but came bent. What is more, it squished the small box it was packed with so I had to restick seals and reinsert contents - that was a completely different order and meant for a different child.Box and book were not packed with foresight, either by seller or repacking facility. They both ended up smashed around corners and in an embarrassing state
