I just ran a new, dedicated 20 amp branch circuit and had to mount a box in an existing wall. I went to one of the large home improvement stores, looked at what they had and bought a steel box that had little expanding wings on each side. I came home and installed the box. The last step was turning the side screws until the side wings were fully expanded. Even at maximum expansion of the wings, the box was not completely solid and stable in my drywall. I got on Amazon and found this product. Two little flaps that swing into place once the box is inserted into the drywall. Done. Solid, stable, and sitting more flush with the wall -- and cost half as much as the previous purchase.

I’ve traditionally done Reno work the hard way, either cut and patch drywall or figure out exactly where your stud is and get just the right box and screw it into place. Either way is so much harder than these. I cut a hole, ran my wire, wired the box. And plopped it in. No drywall, no issues. I will be ordering more
