Great reference book for latest version of InDesign
I haven’t finished this yet but so far this is very thorough and easy to understand. I used to use InDesign more frequently but it’s been over ten years and things have changed. Technical books tend to be hit or miss so I usually do what I’m doing now- read enough of it through kindle unlimited before I decide if I want to buy it. Call me old fashioned but I want a physical copy of this because it’s a reference book but this one I will want open and marked up next to me.If you want a thorough guide this is it but I’d recommend buying the physical copy.

Well-designed, comprehensive manual
Comprehensive, well designed; however, like nearly all manuals, instructions are written by the software engineers who are experts in every aspect of this program. So, for the lay person, specifically, the home user who does not "speak" the language of the experts, one is forced to go online to the user community and YouTube videos for clear, hands-on instructions.
