FROM THE MAKERS OF THE PLANETS AND UNIVERSE Discover the mysterious events unfolding every day across the planets and moons of our Solar System. Today, right now, countless spectacular events are taking place in the skies above us: mountains of ice float on faraway worlds, enormous dust devils whip across a red desert planet, and alien rainstorms feed the rapids of a 250-mile-long river of methane. What’s driving these spectacles has long remained a mystery, but thanks to more spacecraft visiting the planets and moons than ever before, we’re beginning to find the answers. Take five epic journeys across our solar system, witness the most incredible phenomena, and discover how each and every one is expanding the outer limits of our understanding. Review: What an amazing series! - Great DVD; I wish my science lessons had been as clearly explained as this series. It's like watching a blockbuster movie as the graphics are that high a quality. Suitable for all ages too. I bought it from my dad in his 80's and he has watched it a few times already. Review: Astronomy - Brilliant astronomy DVD. Very interesting. Amazing graphics.

Terrific!
Oh the gloriously marvelous Brian Cox - no doubt you've heard the old one about 'I didn't understand a word of it, but I loved it!', well somehow he makes things SO clear that even this duffer, who doesn't know anything about physics, can understand his explanations. I have his previous series on the solar system and I love that as well - he's totally brilliant! Beautifully put together and an added bonus that there are strange places on our own planet that I didn't know existed. What a pity we can't forget about wars, and hating each other, and concentrate on the glories of the universe!

Gorgeous vistas and conversational presentation
The imagery is stunning, and Professor Cox (and his co-presenters) are unpretentious and easy to take. Highly recommend the series.

Good value.
Enjoyed it very much. A little confusing in parts but still very good.

Another great series from Brian Cox. His Astronomy series are always excellent. Nothing has topped Wonders Of The Universe, but this excels.

This video was made in cooperation with PBS, so if you watched the PBS series recently on the solar system, this video parallels those episodes. But the narration is completely different--it features Brian Cox and as always, is superb. I don't know why PBS decided not to use his vastly superior version, but it was well worth getting this DVD to have it. Note that it is PAL and not NTSC so will not play on a US DVD player.

Despite the warning on the listing, I have no issue playing the blu rays on my North American Panasonic 4K player. Really enjoying the show so far. Beautiful and thought provoking.
