Yeah, it works for my situation
First I feel the need to explain: I had hand surgery forcing me to take eight plus years off playing guitar. Not that I was really good before, but I am trying to get back to where I was... I am about about two or three weeks in, and I had to completely relearn every major chord. And I am dying to be able to play Wish You Were Here again. So two nights ago I started working on the solo with bends, pull offs, slides, and so on. On an acoustic guitar with heavy strings. My finger tips were already killing me from practicing chords for a hours each day, but now I am starting to rip the flesh off my finger tips. I order this stuff three nights ago when I started practicing the solo and got it today -just in time. Obviously this stuff in not going to fix (magically heal) my bruised fingers. They still hurt to play, a lot! However, I have been dreaming of playing a couple of my favorite tunes for years. The bruising pain is to the point it's hard to hold a strong chord, but I know from years past if I split or peel the skin off my fingers I won't be able to play at all. That is exactly were I think this stuff is amazing. Using this over priced super glue meets nail polish solution I am able to continue painfully practicing my solo. Yeah one or two times through the solo the single layer of rock tips was cracked and ripped up, but I was able to apply another coat and run through it again without bleeding. It may seem expensive, but I would pay $12 a night to get my 2 hours of painful practice (I would otherwise have to skip). I feel like this bottle will get me through a lot of nights practicing things I would otherwise have to skip. I will order another bottle before I run out if my fingers don't grow rock hard calluses by then. In short if your fingers hurt all day before you start to practice from the night before. They are going to continue to hurt when you play guitar. Sorry this product is not going to totally save you from torturing yourself. It aid you a little in that situation. If you want to practice bends, pull offs, etc on sore fingers this stuff seems to have saved me from ripping layers of skin off. Allowing me to continue.... Update: day 2 I am playing even more and my fingers are hurting less. So over time it does tend to lessen the bruising pain as well. Dries fast. No regrets on my purchase, it does seem to make my phone touch screen less responsive. Hope this long winded review is a helpful.

Now I’m a Believer
KWhen I saw this product, I was skeptical, and it seemed like a lot of money for a mere 4 milliliter. However, I’ve now used this more than two dozen times, and it works great. I play guitar and mandolin, and I hadn’t been practicing much. Then I went to Europe for two weeks without an instrument and returned with essentially no callouses at all. Two days later, I left to spend a week studying Gypsy jazz guitar, playing hours a day. Then, a week later, I spent a week playing Brazilian Choro music on guitar. Yesterday I played for hours—until one a.m. This would be very painful or impossible without Rock Tips. After going from no playing to hours a day, I didn’t get a single blister. If my fingers got sore, an application of a Rock Tips solved the problem. Gypsy jazz is played with a pick, so I only used Rock Tips on my left hand. Choro is played with the thumb and fingertips of the right hand (and a thumb pick), so I used Rock Tips on both hands. Using Rock Tips is like using nail polish, but you use it on skin instead of nails. The cap has a little nail polish brush built in. To use it, Imunscrew the bottle, pull out the brush, and in a few seconds paint the fingertips of my left hand. You don’t have to be near. Speed matters. Just paint it on fast. Not the way you would carefully use nail polish. The Imrefill the brush and hold it between two fingers without touching my wet fingernails and quickly paint the pads of my right thumb and three fingers, then close up the bottle. I wave my fingers, blow on them, etc, and in about one minute (even with high humidity), my fingertips are dry and ready to play. If my fingers hurt, the pain disappeared immediately. (Remember, don’t wait until you already have blisters.) I found that the Rock Tips easily lasted for an hour of hard playing (including constant scraping of the guitar strings with the fingertips of my right hand. A couple times my fingertips began to hurt, and I simply added another layer. I often recoated before the next class. I don’t know how many coats are in a bottle, but if you do four fingers with one brush full as I did, at least a couple dozen uses. Maybe much more. Money well spent. This is especially useful for beginners, but it even works for pros who have been playing too hard. I thought this might be superglue (cyanoacrylate), but I don’t think it is. It doesn’t smell like it. For the first minute, the fluid seems a little oily. It’s not as thick as superglue, but it dries fast. It doesn’t feel like superglue. My fingers don’t seem to stick together they way they would with superglue. In any case, if you or your kid has pain from playing strings, get a bottle of this. It’s worth the price.

Quick fix after finger splinters accident
Pardon the ugly fingers, but they were the catalyst for my search for a solution to a temporary problem following a very stupid and clumsy accident with an iPhone and lots and lots of splinters of glass in... pretty much all of my fingers. Ridding myself of these splinters obviously did a number not only on my fingernails but needless to say, playing any stringed instrument to keep practice up was more painful than getting my original calluses (and bloodied fingers) starting out playing with an acoustic 12 string. I was looking for something to put over my fingertips AFTER OPEN WOUNDS WERE HEALED (the internet calls this a type of liquid bandaid but it’s closer to superglue than liquid bandaid, it even says to not use it on open cuts), that could at least make it not as nasty to regain those calluses while learning the banjo and for my mandolin. First off, one coat will not be enough if you have absolutely no calluses at all. In the photo there are four layers and this has done great to make it simply not hurt to play and practice. Secondly, this isn’t a complete solution for calluses. It’s a great hack and nice for if you have some sort spots or you’ve gone a while without playing and your fingertips have softened, or perhaps you’ve been practicing a new instrument for hours and hours and you want to eek out more practice hours — THIS IS FOR YOU! DONT BUY this is you’re looking to skip wearing natural calluses onto your fingertips while learning to become a stringed instrument player, this will only do a disservice to you. Otherwise, try this out and DONT PUT IT ON BROKEN, DAMAGED, OR OPEN SKIN IT WILL BURN BADLY.

Useful product.
If your calluses are not yet to the place they need to be. This will patch you through until the calluses harden.

Decent Product
It works okay and makes playing a little more comfortable but has a lot of drawbacks. For one it's quite expensive, but I could overlook that if it worked better. It provides some padding but far from painless still. It also doesn't dry perfectly despite the bottle saying it dries in a couple minutes, it can feel slightly sticky even after 10 minutes. It also strong fumes while you're applying it which I find a little strange considering it's non toxic. It's just a bit irritating to my eyes and makes them water while I'm applying it. I will probably keep using it despite these drawbacks because there aren't many products like this on the market. Overall I would recommend it if you're desperate for more comfortable playing like I am.

It works
This is exactly what I needed. I had done damage to my pointer index and ring finger in an accident several months ago and I’m just now getting back to where I can start playing guitar again. And I need to get those calluses buildup on the tips of my fingers. I’ve tried superglue which worked very temporarily but I gotta tell you this stuff is amazing. You’ll not be unhappy if you buy it.

Allows You to keep playing while time for Natural Callus to form.
I bought this product because when playing the guitar my pinkie on my fretting hand never seemed to build a callus and stayed sore. I tried the latex tips but they would slip between strings. I ended up using two coats of Rock Tips Liquid for the tips of my hi-E string pinkie and one coat for my B string ring finger. Does a great job and allows me to practice longer. Hopefully I will be able to develop natural callus but in the meantime this product keeps me playing. I keep it in my gig bag all the time.

Works!
I just started using this because I'm starting up again playin the guitar. Pain in my finger tips has been a real obstacle for me especially my little finger. This stuff is great. I put two coats on and I could play for 40 minutes the first day. Two days later I added a coat (much had worn off) and again could play for 40 minutes. Despite the name it is not rock hard. The strings do make impressions on my fingers and I'm pretty sure i'm building calluses under there.

Godsend!
Really impressed with this product - just wish it was more affordable. That said absolutely no regrets about this purchase. I bought it to keep my fingertips fresh for my summer gigs - where I sometimes had two in one day. This stuff was a godsend, absolutely a where have you been all my life moment. It's like nail polish but see through and for your tips, and you can still feel the strings and play like you would normally without having sore fingers the next day.
