Does it really erase cleanly?

It's not perfect, but it is better than other transfer papers I have used. It really depends upon how heavy-handed you are.

Does this paper leave unnecessary black marks when transferring the image? My carbon paper leaves black marks where my hand was pressed too.

It can leave some marks, though not as bad as some tracing papers I've used. Since I bought the graphite paper and not black, that is helpful. Just learned in a water color class that you can literally gently wipe off tracing marks with a little water and a stiff brush...gently rub back and forth. Try practicing on a scrap sheet.

Does this product work on glass?

I don't think it will work on glass or any shiny hard surface. It is designed for matt surface that can hold graphite powder such as canvas, drawing board and paper. You might look for the one which is a little waxy.
