SIRUI GH30 Low Profile Ball Head, 360° Panoramic Camera Tripod Head

This head is fantastic. It’s surprisingly small and light for its strength. I loaded it up as much as I could just to be sure and it doesn’t budge. It’s very well thought out and made. The clamp works perfectly. I’m always very iffy about lever clamps because they have a tendency to loosen on their own. This one hasn’t budged yet. I’ve never actually recommended one to anybody before, but I highly recommend this one. I’ve bought a few different things from Sirui over time and the quality is always impressive. I actually got this for their am-225 tripod and it’s *perfect* for it. I really don’t know why they don’t offer it with this as an option. Combined, this is now my absolute favorite lightweight/travel/hiking tripod. I really don’t have any gripes about it. Locking the ball requires a touch more turning than you’d expect, but it’s not anything I’d call a problem. I’m very happy with this thing, just as I’ve been with everything I’ve used from Sirui.

I have been doing serious photography for many years and used many different ballheads. The Sirui is the best. Sirui has come up with an inovative quick release that eleiminates the time consuming tightening and untightening of traditional ballheads and it workds extremely well. This is a great product at a competive price.

I purchased one of these to use with a new "headless" monopod. Very happy with this choice. I use camera "L" cages that have built-in Arca features and this unit is compact, easily locks into place, and has a quick release/lock lever for the Arca plates. I'm very happy and purchased a second one to go with a compact tripod I have on the way from crowd funding campaign.

During last decade I have owned and used many camera accessories, among them different types of tripods and ball heads. Despite all these gears that I collected , I always wanted something small but capable that I could use with my travel tripod. And this ball head did what I exactly wanted and more, its not only small enough for packing for day trips or maybe vacations it is also very sturdy and heavy duty, it handles my Nikon Z8 with 24-120 with ease. When all locked, it stays locked in and no movement. Great product.

Everything I have gotten from these guys has been great and I believe the prices are on point and probably better than most comparable name brands out there.

The locking/clasp mechanism on this head, used to secure to arca rail, is made of plastic and breaks very easily in cold weather. I would not recommend this for anything more than very light use in warm weather.

Holds my 5 pound camera & lens without moving. Well made

I have many Surui products and wanted to try the this shorter profile one. It still supports 22# or 10kg. That's pretty consistent with the bigger model that I have. The smaller body is over 1" shorter and lighter but still secure. It has a rotating ball locking lever, not a round knob for much easier locking and precise loosening to the ball head doesn't drop. The only round knob is the knurled panning knob at the base. The plate locking lever is adjustable, but requires then enclosed hex wrench to increase or decrease the locking distance for different width Arca plates. It cannot freely rotate to adjust without a tool unfortunately. When adjusted, even the widest or narrowest Arca plates can fit. The side release lever allows Arca plates to lift out or seat into the dovetail groove. Aside from the hex wrench, there is a collar for smaller 1/4"x20 thread studs. No neoprene storage bag with this model. My only issue is the ball lock lever is sometimes blocked by the plate locking lever if they sit atop of each other. This can be avoided by rotating the ball head out of the way. It holds my long lens and body easily on my tripod. Another fine ball head from Sirui with with quality metal and exacting machining and satin black finish.

I really don't feel safe adjusting this under load as there is no tension knob. I like the quick release plate, and it's fairly smooth in motion and small, but that missing dial makes using this a risk.

Mi serviva una testa a sfera per poter posizionare la mia reflex sugli stativi fotografici e poter direzionare la macchinetta in base alle mie esigenze. Ho ordinato questo prodotto e son rimasto sbalordito. Mi aspettavo qualcosa di molto più piccolo e leggero, invece questo prodotto è bello massiccio! A parte le notevoli dimensioni, il prodotto si presenta benissimo, sembra estremamente resistente e professionale. Ottimi i materiali, ottima la manualità dei sistemi di bloccaggio, comodo e semplice il sistema di sgancio. Questo prodotto ispira fiducia, stabilità e affidabilità, credo regga in maniera impeccabile anche corpi macchina (o telecamere) più pesanti e professionali. Approvo a pieni voti senza ombra di dubbio!

Ich habe von diesem Hersteller schon mehrere Stative und Köpfe in Verwundung, noch nie wurde ich enttäuscht. So auch bei diesem Kopf. Tadellose Verarbeitung, leichtgängige Verstellung, sichere Arretierung, clevere Schnellkupplung mit sicherem Halt der Wechselplatte. Hält meine Nikon Z6III samt 2.8/70-200er bombenfest in jeder Stellung. Ein hervorragendes Produkt zum mehr als fairen Preis.

Muy contento con la rótula. Buena construcción y bien terminada. Algo pequeña pero ideal para ese trípode de viaje ligero.
