Recovery Renal for cats, 1 x 280 ml, high-calorie complete diet food for cats with kidney dysfunction and increased energy requirements during recovery, to promote weight gain

Giving my cat this daily as she has been diagnosed with kidney problems (she has only has one and it was working overtime!) She was losing weight fast so we needed some additional help with her nutrition. She has a portion every morning and licks it all up. If she needs some encouragement I often add some lik-e-lix on the top or crumble a few dreamies. I bought the pack of 3 bottles because once opened it has a short shelf life. So far, with excellent veterinary attention and renal medication, small regular meals and this tonic in 4 weeks she has gained 400g, so I am hopeful the upward trend will continue. The formula is designed for cats with renal problems and has a well balanced range of vitamins and minerals to help their daily life and add extra calories.

We used this product, to supplement a whole host of other medications, after our cat had gone into acute kidney failure. She lost a lot of weight, but this product definitely helped her regain her weight whilst also providing all the right nutrition. It is meant to be tasty enough to put in food, but our cat would not eat it like that. So we syringed it directly into her mouth. Once she had put weight back on, we switched to the renal tonic.

This expensive concoction is worth paying for when my cat's health is at stake. My cat wasn't as keen as others have been on videos - she wasn't licking it from the tip of a syringe etc. however she tolerated being syringe fed and when she started eating again didn't mind it being mixed into her wet food, so I assume it tastes relatively good. The smell is not as bad as some have made out. It's for cats. It is designed to promote appetite - a strong smell is going to help do that. On the whole I am happy with the product and would buy it again. Yes, it's expensive, but it has improved my cat's appetite and therefore her overall health and the liquid appears to be from high quality ingredients. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars from me is the terrible customer service. There are two completely different feeding amount instructions when you check out the website vs the packaging. When I emailed for clarification (twice) I received no response after over a week. I didn't want to 'overdose' my cat on electrolytes etc. Seeing as this product is designed for poorly cats you would assume they would realise a quick response is essential. Oh well. In the end I figured let her take as much as she wants and it seems to have worked out okay.

My elederly (20 year old) cat was listless, not earing, hovering over her water bowl, losing weight rapidly and generally unhappy. Did a bit of Googling and identified it as probably renal failure. This stuff is amazing. One sniff and she was gobbling away like a kitten. Mixed with her normal food and the same result. Now happily snoring away in her basket, weight has piled back on and she is good as new. A miracle cure! An elixir!. Hideously expensive at first sight but worth every pennt. The other option was a trip to a vet, blod tests, an overnight drip, more tests and a new mortgage.

My cat has Stage 1 CKD and 16 years old. I originally bought this product because her weight has dropped a bit. We've been using it for about 6 months now, and we use it in her renal diet. Mixed with her food once a day has definitely done the trick. We blend with her meatloaf and add some warm water, just like a soup. She absolutely loves it. Just remember to shake the bottle well. Her weight is up and she's happy and well. CKD is stable. Some reviews on here complain about the smell, which I find ridiculous quite honestly. It doesn't smell too bad, besides it's the cat eating/drinking it not the human! I would definitely recommend it if you're having a problem keeping the animals weight up.

Good product as the cat really enjoyed it and he was off his food until eating this. Downside is that it really has a short shelf life once opened and therefore end up wasting so much. It is expensive anyway and wastage makes it even more so.

My cat could not be fussier over his food but luckily now he is in his 16th year and showing signs of kidney problems, he loves this additive to his food, although expensive it is worth it if it slows down the deteriorating of his kidneys.

Couldn't get my cat to take it

Used this on my CKD stage 3 cat who refuses to eat the wide range of kidney care food I gave her. She only eats boiled chicken breast with broth. Thankfully, she found this product highly palatable and has gained a good amount of weight.

È un prodotto ottimo per chi ha un gatto con insufficienza renale, lo aiuta ad espellere le tossine che accumula, gli stimola l appetito ed è ottimo anche se hanno problemi nella deglutizione. È caro, però è un buon prodotto. L ho comprato più volte e lo ricomprero'.

Me está ayudando mucho con mi gato con insuficiencia renal. Debe tener un sabor y olor muy buenos, porque es abrir el bote y viene corriendo para tomarlo. Me parece un poco caro, pero el resultado que me está dando en poco tiempo es muy positivo. Lo recomiendo.

Nie wieder ohne! Vorher aber gut Schützeln! Vorgeschichte: Meine Katze, 15 Jahre, hat stark abgenommen, sich oft übergeben, stumpfes Fell bekommen, lag abwesend in ihrem Körbchen. Ich bin dann durch „Zufall“ auf dieses Renal Recovery gestoßen. Ich voller Euphorie: ihr angeboten. Madame hat dran gerochen und ist weggelaufen. Erneuter Versuch: etwas unters Essen gemischt und siehe da: sie hat es verschlungen. Ich habe mittlerweile 4 Packungen gekauft (12 Flaschen). Heute habe ich wieder zwei Packungen nachbestellt. Mittlerweile schleckt sie das Mittel pur aus einem kleinen Schälchen. Unter das Essen gemischt mag sie aktuell nicht. Daher bekommt sie es pur. Sie ist dadurch wieder vitaler. Das Fell wirkt gesünder. Sie nimmt nicht weiter an Gewicht ab sondern hat schon etwas zugenommen. Ich kann dieses Peodukt zu 100% empfehlen. Gebt nicht auf wenn sie es nicht sofort mögen. Gerne auch mal pur anbieten außerhalb des Fressplatzes. Und wichtig: immer gut schütteln vorher! Habe das Gefühl dass sie es dann eher mag als ungeschüttelt.
