Quality set
Very happy with this sprouting seed set. The jar is very good quality, the glass is thick and strong. The stand is very sturdy. The cover is thick, blocking light completely. The instructions are easy and straightforward to follow. But it will differ from seed to seed and the timing also differs. I started sprouting Alfalfa seeds and after 4 days, the most of the seeds are sprouted. Really pleased with the results so far. Will be trying out other seeds over the year. I would recommend getting the two jar set so you can sprout two different seeds.

Great idea. Nicely presented kit to grow your own bean sprouts
I find myself ridiculously excited to try this out. A big like a big kid! It looks like a really fun idea (and would be great to use with real kids!) I like bean sprouts, in salads or stir fries, etc. but my wife did not. I look at the big bags of bean sprouts in the supermarket and know that we’d not get through them all before half go off, so it seems a waste. But the idea of growing a liked potful at a time seems a great solution. I have the pack with two growing jars, I believe you can buy just one, if you prefer. It is really well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, with foam rubber inserts to protect the glass contents. Included are two glass Mason jars, with a screw lid and a top to the lid that is a metal mesh to allow water to pour in and out. Each jar comes with a small stand (presumably mainly to catch any water that might drip out), a stand made of metal wide with a plastic casing (to hold the jar upside down at an angle) and a black neoprene cover bag to keep the light out. It all seems nicely made. There’s also a plastic and sponge cleaning tool plus what I assume area a couple of spare screws for the stand, which can fold up flat, when not use, or unfold to hold the jar. The listing says that there isn’t an instructions booklet included but that they will add one in future. Mine actually does have a clear, illustrated instructions booklet in the, so I guess they did act in they intention. But even if there weren’t, the listing page has good instructions on it too. The pack does not come with and seeds, but it was easy enough to find a pack of mung bean seeds at the local garden centre did £3.49 (you only use a tablespoon or so each time, so this pack will last a while.) So I have just started my first attempt at growing some bean sprouts. If it’s a success, I’ll add a photo of my first ‘crop’ in 5 or 6 days time.

Very effective for beansprouts
Having two jars on the go at any one time means I now have a more or less continuous supply of lovely fresh beansprouts for my stir fries. Previously I had a single jar, and what tended to happen was I would start off a batch of seeds, use them once when supper fresh and ready, once again a day or so later, then the rest would be binned. Having two matching jars means I can grwo a smaller amount at a time, and only grow what I need - so fewer, but fresher, beansprouts. The setup is really clever - each jar comes with an angled stand and a drip tray for the water to seep out into (my old setup didn't have a tray so I ended up balancing it precariously in a saucer), and you also get a black silicon sleeve to put over the jar, which is supposed to help with speedy growth - I have to say that so far I haven't noticed much difference, but I'd really need to run two jars simultaneously, one with and one without the sleeve, to see if there really is a difference. I probably will never get round to doing this! You get tons of delicious beansprouts from a spoonful of seeds in just a few days - nutritious and crunchy. So much better than shop bought ones that go slimy after a day or so.

Easy and hassle free growing
I ordered the two jar seed sprouting kit as I enjoy growing things, and I enjoy beansprouts, so I was looking forward to trying the kit. I recieved two jars, two covers, two stands and trays, and some spare tightening bolts in case I lose any, you also get basic instructions how to start the process off, and what you need to do to care for them while they sprout. I obtained a 1kg bag of mung beans, which I'm reliably informed are the seeds that become bean sprouts, and as you use only 1-3 tablespoons of seeds per jar the bag will last a long time. It isn't quite as simple as throwing the seeds in and waiting, instead you rinse the seeds well after soaking them for 8 hours, then you need to rinse them twice a day while they're growing. Overall though due to the design and the mesh lids it's a relatively hassle free, mess free and a simple way to produce your chosen sprouts, I think they kits are well priced, and they seem to be a good design, so I'm happy to recommend them.

A great experiment!
I ordered this kit as I was intrigued to see how it worked. It comes with two mason jars with perforated lids, jar covers and two stands to rest them on. I haven't grown cress or bean sprouts for many years - not since I was young - and in those days there were no such sophisticated systems. I am quite excited to see how well it works! The kit is easy to set up, and there are simple instructions on the product page and in a small leaflet inside the box. I have sown some cress seeds in one of the jars, and am eagerly awaiting the results of my experiment! This kit would be great for youngsters to get them into growing things, as the results should be visible after just 3 or 4 days. For what you get in the kit, I would say it is good value for money - you get a lot for your money, but do bear in mind that the kit does not include the seeds. Overall, an intriguing kit that would make a great activity for children - and adults too - and is very reasonably priced.
