The North Face Base Camp Duffel

I ordered the Medium sized base camp bag to use as a cabin bag when travelling. When I looked at the prices I wasn't too enamoured with it but for the reputable TNF brand I decided to bite the bullet. I have since used the bag in a ski trip where I managed to pack all of my clothes for 5 days away (Pub clothes, sportswear, nightwear, footwear and underwear), as well as a pair salopettes and two skiing jackets within the bag. This and still with room to spare (see photo). The bag is made of a tough plastic which when empty, is difficult to shape and open up but shows its quality when it's full and being dragged around. The straps on the shoulders are comfortable and used as my main means of carrying. There is also a hand strap which allows you to carry it like a duffel bag. Due to the bag still having about 3 inch of space in it from the top to my items I appreciated the straps on the side of the bag which allowed me to compress down the bag and stop all my carefully packed clothes from being tossed around. A few key features I found when using the bag is the two handes at either side, this is handy when trying to free the bag when it is packed under other items as well as a general carry handle. All of the zips have a means to be padlocked together which gives peace of mind if and when it was to be put in the hold of the plane or on a luggage rack in transit. Mesh pockets on the inside are tough and sizeable on this bag. The bag is easy to clean, due to it being plastic a wipe and dry with a cloth has been suffice for me. One adaption I have since made is the addition of a chest clip onto the shoulder straps. Most of my rucksacks have this and I felt it a good addition, perhaps if TNF had done this I would have been even happier with the bag.

This is a nice big bag ( it’s the medium) and will be easy to spot on a caroussel. It comes folded in its own zip case to the size of 5 stacked dinner plates, great for when it needs to be stowed. In fact this bag is bigger than I expected and for a weekend I might have done better with the small size. This will take a well rolled sleeping bag and enough clothes for a short weekend doing something informal like sailing where only a change of clothes and spare dry are needed.

Does exactly what I need it to do but does make k very easily

This bag is fantastic, good capacity strong materials and I imagine it will last for a long time. I purchased the 75l bag which can get quite heavy when full so the backpack straps are great when fully loaded.

Absolutely love this bag! Super convenient. Would like it to have a chest strap tho as it can get heavy to carry.

Perfect fits so much and yet is hand luggage size

È un borsone serio. Non ha tasche superflue , ha tutte quelle che servono in viaggio : una interna a rete con zip sulla parte superiore , sempre internamente ancora una a rete con elastico sul lato destro ed infine una terza tasca impermeabile lateralmente all’ esterno. Si presenta straordinariamente robusto e capiente (taglia M), sicuramente non sarà messo in difficoltà se maltrattato o impiegato sotto la pioggia. Il tessuto e’ spesso ed è spalmato internamente in PCV. Le cerniere non sono stagne perche progettate x uso intensivo, scorrono molto bene e sono robuste. Gli spallacci sono ben ancorati, imbottiti e regolabili. Vedremo con il tempo come si comporterà perché sarà sottoposto ad impiego gravoso, per adesso 5 stelle in quanto molto soddisfatto dell’ acquisto. Consigliatissimo

Love this bag. Perfect carry on for a plane.

The base camp duffle is a great and spacious bag for travel. I typically use a duffle for a 2-3 night interstate travel. Packing cells are a must as there is no compartments inside the main area. The waterproof material and rugged design handles the random weather we experience in Australia. The backpack straps are good but not the best. Once you exceed 20kg the straps start to feel inadequate. So they only good for a short carry. Overall I'm very pleased with the base camp duffle.

Heat product, amazing quality

Inizio col dire che i colori sono pazzeschi e fa una gran bella figura, ma il suo punto forte è la comodità in confronto a trolley quando non hai spazio per valigie con strutture come rotelle e manico! L'ho usato per un solo viaggio, ma il fatto che fosse per la settimana bianca rende l'idea della versatilità di questo borsone. Taglia M ed è entrato tutto l'occorrente per sciare e vestiti pesanti per una settimana intera. Neve e acqua non l'hanno scalfito. Lo spazio dentro sembrava non finire mai, c'era sempre un cunicoletto in cui infilare piccole cose come mutande o calzini. Tornato a casa e svuotato il borsone, l'ho ripiegato nella sua sacchetta come quando è arrivato e occupa nell'armadio uno spazio ridicolo. Non l'ho provato ancora come zaino, ma sì tratterebbe solo di una questione di comodità nel portarlo.
