I originally thought these didn't work, but I was wrong - THEY DO WORK! I tried them with numerous cables, and I never got a signal. Was setting up a return of them and went looking for another brand of connector, which is when I found a fascinating video by that other brand (whose name is almost a Scottish pudding). In the video, it showed that if there was no signal when the USB-C cables are both plugged in, unplug one cable, rotate it by 180º, and plug it back in. Voila, it works! I had NO idea that there was a sided-ness to USB-C cables, but I sure understand it now in a very functional way. So, yeah, these connectors are pretty cool!

I bought this USB-C coupler to connect two shorter cables, and it has worked perfectly without any issues. The build quality feels very premium with its aluminum housing, and it is compact enough to carry anywhere.It handles fast charging perfectly and passes through video and data seamlessly with no noticeable drop in performance. I also really appreciate the built-in LED indicator that lets you know it’s actively working. If it doesn't work right away when you plug it in, just flip one of your cable connectors around—USB-C orientation can be finicky, but flipping it solves it instantly. Highly recommend this if you need a reliable, high-powered extension!

These "do" work for data and charging (have not tested for video). PLEASE NOTE: These couplers have an LED indicator, one on each side, that needs to be "lit" (yes, "on") so you know your power/data will flow through. If you have the coupler between two cables, and the opposite ends of the cables to your device/charger/compter/etc., and it's not lit, read on. You NEED that LED on. The USB-C cable's plug for "one of the two" might need to be flipped 180 degrees to have success. I tested with Anker 240W 3' cables and one side of each male connector has their logo, so, when connected to this coupler, you'd want one side up and the other side down, then voila! A pair was worth the price to me for my travel tech pouch for "when" I might need to extend my cables to make one longer one. This would get 5 starts if cable end orientation were no a "thing"! I'd still recommend these based on my findings and ya just need to know!

I have 2 audio interface that uses USB-C. Both have connectors only in the back where it's a several hour process to get to the connector. I have 2 computers. One of the computers is also in a rack and is about an hour long process to get to the USB-C port. Yeah, I don't know why I went this route... Anyhow, I bought some USB-C cables for all 4 endpoints, and pre-ran them to a common spot, tied them together, and needed something to patch them togethere - that is where this comes in. It's a complete win, connects the cables together with no fuss, no noise, no problems; even has a handy, small, indicator light that it's involved. I don't know about passing power through it, not my use case, but otherwise, this is exactly what I need to relieve several hours of effort and save wear and tear on my USB-C ports

This coupler only works when the cable happens to be plugged in the "correct" orientation. Plug it in the other way and you get nothing. Flip one end, and suddenly it works. That is a fundamental failure of the product. USB-C is specifically engineered to be orientation-agnostic — a properly wired coupler handles orientation internally; this one doesn't. What you get instead is a coin flip every time you connect something, on a connector whose entire design purpose was to eliminate exactly that problem. A coupler has one job: pass the connection through transparently. This one fails that job unless you accommodate its wiring shortcut. If you only plan to plug something in once and never touch it again, you may never notice. For anything you connect and disconnect regularly, avoid.

These are really good for making 2 short lines into one longer line. I bought these because I changed my computer items around on my office desk and the shorter lines were no longer what I needed. Instead. of buying all new cords, I had a few other cords so I got these and connected a few and didn't have to buy new longer cords and not use what I already had. (Saved money)

I got this to extend a small USB hub with a fixed cord. I didn't realize that the USB-C spec doesn't really support extending a cable. That's why you need to reverse the orientation of the cord if it doesn't work. I purchased another brand and it was a guessing game whether it would work or not and it seemed very particular about the cord. This one worked right away and there's an LED that shows you if it's working. This alone is very useful. It's working well for me.

I bought these specifically for use at work where I could plug in my charger and at the other side of the conference room still be able to charge my phone / laptop using the 2 x 2m USB c cables I already had in my bag. These are rated even higher than the 65W I need to charge my laptop and work perfectly

Power and data are flowing nicely. Can't give a comment on the data rate, since I'm not using powerful enough devices to check. Little led on both sides give a clear indication of power passing through. Seems it doesn't get hot, but again, I'm not using it at full capacity. Fit and finish is very nice looking, the cables are firmly attached and the metallic body is strong.
