I purchased these extended screws because I reached the weight limit on my standard Eisenlink adjustable dumbbells. I wanted to add the extra plates I had to push my heavy compound lifts past the default maximum capacity of the kit. I have been using these upgraded screws for about three weeks. I primarily use them for flat bench press and single arm rows where I need the heaviest weight possible. Performance and Experience The threading on these screws matches the original equipment perfectly. You simply unscrew the standard end caps and replace them with these longer versions. They allow you to stack significantly more plates onto the handle. I found them to be extremely secure during use. Even with the added weight there was no rattling or movement of the plates. However it is important to note that these extend the overall length of the dumbbell considerably. When doing exercises like chest presses the dumbbells can touch each other sooner at the top of the movement. You have to adjust your form slightly to accommodate the extra width. Pros • Capacity: Allows you to add significantly more weight to the standard handle. • Build Quality: The steel feels just as durable and solid as the original screws. • Fit: They screw in smoothly without any grinding or resistance. Cons • Width: The dumbbells become very wide which can alter your range of motion on certain exercises. • Balance: The center of gravity feels slightly different due to the extra length on the ends. Verdict These are an excellent purchase if you have outgrown the base weight of your Eisenlink set. They are sturdy and safe but you must be prepared for the dumbbells to feel much bulkier during use.
