Sound great in lower powered systems!
Had to come back and completely change my review on these. My initial thoughts on these speakers were that they were just not that great... they seemed to distort and lacked a full range sound. Fast forward after a good month of listening to them and comparing them to other speakers that I bought to replace these speakers and in all honesty ... they are incredible speakers! After a lengthy break-in period ... they just started sounding better and better! Disclaimer: They are not a very good bass speaker. You can find other speakers that have quite a bit more bass output like the Toro Tech HX6's. But these Infinity's have the best sounding tweets I've heard. Very crisp! JL also has outstanding tweets, but Infinity and JL are actually owned by the same company and are surely sharing their tech with each other. The only thing that forces me to abandon these in my car is that they only handle 55 watts. I have "grown" my system in my vehicle and am just simply in need of something that can handle more power. Up to around 50 watts these sound great.. but if you need more , you need more. These can no longer hang with my system. Toro Tech (HX6) is another option that handles quite a bit of power, sound good and a priced well. The Toro's can't compete with the Infinity's on the high notes - but they win in every other department. All in all ... these are incredible speakers that I would recommend to anyone. JUST GIVE THEM SOME TIME TO BREAK IN AND LOOSEN UP!

Good for the money, make sure you use a sound deadener with these.
These have GREAT sound to them, but if you just put them in with the speaker adapters you bought and wire them up they won't in every vehicle. I am a Mitsubishi technician so I used these as a test to see whether or not they'd be a suitable replacement for the following vehicles: 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander (full size) Tested in all 3 cars, the sport didn't need any help in sounding good enough, other than to adjust the crossover. However, in the eclipse cross, the midrange was resonating in the door very badly (as the base model speakers do in these cars) and it was a horrible experience. The full size outlander was alright but not great overall. I had a few boxes of some new 3-layer sound deadening I was trying, NVX SDRF20. It is the same as using Noico + the 150mil foam it can be used with, except it's all one piece, no having to make the layers yourself, it also costs the same if you buy both in the same quantities. Coated the inner panels of the door with the deadening and boy oh boy did it make a difference - no more bad resonance on the mid range and the bass output was much better and tighter. They sound great when given a little help. I also added some Stinger Roadkill RKFR6 speaker rings with the added baffles behind them to make sure all was well and it was! In the end, the speakers are good if the car they're going into is also good. If you're going to put speakers into a vehicle, take the time to do it right and add all the other bits as well so you don't have to worry about them not meeting your expectations. Plus, you get all the other added benefits of doing it right as well, such as adding insulation and reducing road noise from the sound deadening. Do it right, do it once.

Solid base model replacement, but not an upgrade.
They're about what you'd expect from a stock base model vehicle. Nothing special, not bad either. But not an "upgrade" unless your speakers are blown like mine were in my work van. Worked well for me. Don't expect too much.

Huge improvement
I installed these in my '99 Tacoma. They're a huge improvement over the stock speakers that are now well over 20 years old. They were super easy to install (with the wiring harness - sold separately), for the most part. I have an extended cab and these fit into the back (with provided mounting bracket) without issue. The front door speakers needed a little modifying on the bracket to fit properly with door panels and molding (I had to cut some of the mounting tabs ((thankfully not used to secure speaker)) in order to get door and trim panels back in place). The sound quality is amazing. They provide just enough bass for me to hear it clearly but not so much that I feel like I'm in a dance club. I'm motivated to replace the speakers in my other car with these ones.

Infinity Ref vs Factory = No contest
Bought these to replace the factory speakers in my 2015 F150's front doors. To be fair, the factory speakers in the F150 are crap. They are low power rated speakers that are built using PLASTIC frames. So comparing these Infinity speakers to the factory Ford speakers is like comparing apples to oranges. Actually, there is no comparison. I purchased the Metra speaker adapters for the F150 so these would bolt right in. I also ordered the wire harness adapters from Metra so I would have a clean installation with no splices. Installation was a breeze and the biggest problem I ran into was just getting the door panels off so I could mount the speakers. I also replaced the rear door speakers with 6.5" Infinity Reference speakers, in addition to the 3.5" speaker on the dash. These Infinity Reference speakers sound completely amazing when compared to the factory units. I have lots of bass and the directional tweeters can be aligned so that they point towards the closest listener, which helps to project the high frequencies. They also don't rattle like the factory speakers did. Had I known how lame the factory speakers were, I would have replaced them as soon as I purchased the truck. :) Would definitely recommend to F150 owners.

Great value as factory replacement. Big improvement.
Worked great for replacing factory door speakers in 2002 GMC Yukon XL (factory amp, non-Bose). They come with adapter rings and hardware enough to mount rings and speakers. I didn't like how the Schoshe adapters I had purchased sat in the doors, so I used the ones in this set and it worked perfectly. I did use adapter pigtails for the wiring, and that made it easier. Overall very pleased for the price. I installed in the front doors as a trial, then immediately ordered a second set that still need to be installed in the rear doors this week. For my music tastes and volume levels I'll be using these in other vehicles going forward.

Perfect fit for Honda Element
I purchased the "Used - Like New" option of these at a 55% discount and what arrived appeared to be brand new and never used. They fit perfectly in the front doors of my 2003 Honda Element using one existing hole from the factory speakers and three self-tapping screws in the three other positions. I did not have to modify the moisture guards due to the shallow profile of these. These are a very bright speaker with excellent mids and highs and complement the deeper bass and lesser mids/highs of the Pioneer TS-A653FH speakers I have installed in the rear doors quite nicely. Would recommend.

Speakers are fine, but beware of wrong items being shipped.
These speakers are great for factory replacements due to their lower ohm rating. But... Beware of getting the wrong item when not choosing prime shipping. Same sellers will have the item for a non-prime price which was average market rate at the time. Then a prime price which was $40 more for this particular item. Well, I wasn't in a hurry, so I chose non-prime. Got speakers that were rated at 4ohm, which would not be good for factory drop in. Clearly, there is a QC issue when you don't shell out the extra fee - or you are getting inventory dumped.

They sound great! Very impressed for the price point.
I installed these in the front of my 2006 Honda Element. It was an easy install that only took about 15 minutes. I previously had a pair of Pioneer TS-G1620F in the front which were only a little better than factory and sounded rather tinny and hollow at times and were fatiguing my ears after only a short time. To be fair they were only $59.99, but these Infinity's are night and day better and worth every cent. They appear to be well made, and most importantly they sound smooth and warm and pair up excellent with my 12 inch subwoofer. I also notice they are a bit louder too which makes sense due to the 93DB efficiency and impedance correction. When you're running off the deck you need every bit of efficiency you can get and these fit the bill! I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to enjoying these for years to come.
