Stunning depth and breadth of information. I have read many books on health/longevity and this is by far the most valuable I've encountered. Gottfried is more than qualified, having received her degrees at Harvard and MIT, practiced conventional medicine and turned to functional medicine some years ago. Before buying the book I listened to a podcast she did with Chris Kresser (another highly respected functional doctor) and I found Gottfried to be highly intelligent and, frankly, the type of person I'd love to have advising me directly. Not only is she an MD and functional doctor but also a yoga instructor, mother of two and perimenopausal 50 year old woman... who is gorgeous and ageing very well. The book is extremely well organised with the right mix of research-backed information and practical tips on how you can do your best to age well. After having watched some of her videos I hoped that the book would really get into detail on the things she shares with patients - based on her 20+ years in clinical practice. This is exactly what the book offers. I've already contacted my nutritionist to have some of the tests run and planing on following many, if not most, of Gottfried's advise. So pleased I bought the hardcopy rather than just the Kindle version - lots of highlighting and referring!!
