The memory foam doughnut seemed to offer a possible answer. On unpacking the cushion, I was aware that the foam was of uneven thickness, a bit lumpy even! I tried it strait away and could sit for almost twice as long before discomfort returned. It certainly helps with my problem, but could be better (less lumpy). The construction appears sound. Review: doughnut seat pillow - This cushion has been brilliant. I have it on my semi-recumbent exercise bike. Before I had it I got really bad coccyx pain when I was on the bike. Now I'm very comfortable. It's been wonderful!

This cushion has been brilliant. I have it on my semi-recumbent exercise bike. Before I had it I got really bad coccyx pain when I was on the bike. Now I'm very comfortable. It's been wonderful!
