Do not buy this
This is an overpriced gas station usb cable. It doesn't have anything built in to create the virtual com port...its just a usb cable that is cisco blue. Save your money.

No Driver Required?
Either I have a bad cable or there is a driver required. All my other serial cables show up right away when I connect them. Not this cable, cannot see this cable when connected to OS X, Linux, or Windows. All my other cables work just fine, not this one.

Not worth the money
DO NOT BUY. Cable is cheap quality and need to install driver (CP210x_Universal_Windows_Driver). My work colleague picked up a much better quality cable (thicker and braided) for 8 bucks from the gas station.

JUNK!!!!
Ordered 4, only one worked. Requested 3 replacements. Only one of them work! The ones that do work are a little thicker and more rigid. Trying a different vendor!

Could not get this cable to work
Would not connect to any cisco gear we had - disappointing

Does the job without breaking the bank
Grabbed this as a spare for my go-bag and honestly surprised at how well it works. Plugged into a Catalyst 9200cx, driver auto-installed on Windows 11, COM port showed up in seconds. 9600 8N1 in PuTTY and I was straight into the console, no fuss at all. Tested on Linux too, zero issues. Build quality is decent for the price and the micro usb b seats firmly. Great value for what it is highly recommend as a backup cable.

Works on the Cisco Catalyst C9200CX
Get the cable connected and power on the switch, COM port shows up and nothing else is required. Cable length is good, Cisco blue cable stands out in my pile of cables. Overall it's good quality cable.
