Very Useful and Performs Well
At this price point, this is a very good buy! I have been using it now for about 2 years and so far, havent changed the blade. I have blown 2 fuses over the 2 years - which doesn't seem too bad. I am probably getting to the point where a new blade would be good. It cuts meats and cheeses very accurately down to a pretty thin slice. I have used it on eye of round, turkey, pork loin and summer sausage, as well as smoked gouda cheese. Would recommend it for the casual user.

Love this product for easy to use
I found this product much better than the cheaper meat slicer from the other brand because few reasons: 1.) I don't have to cool the motor after 10 minutes continuous use. 2.) can cut really well even the meat is almost 100% frozen. 3.) The handle to push the meat down in place works quite ok. 4.) Not a problem with a block of meat, around 4 inches thick. Although it is not super easy to clean the blade, but overall is almost perfect for this price. I might get this product back if I found the other product cost over $300+ does not score perfect 5 stars. I did return the product only because I was protesting Amazon for not posting my reviews (even Amazon gave me ranking).

A decent home use slicer
It's Apr 2024 and I've used this slicer for over a year now, approximately once a month for around 15 total pounds of assorted meat and cheese each time. It has held up well over this period, with only a few flaws. 1. It seems that sharpening these circular blades is difficult at best. In the year that I've used it the blade is still pretty sharp, but it will need a touch up at some point. There is a well-known company here that gets a lot of business from many of the local restaurants sharpening the regular knives that are used. This company won't touch the circular blade. I checked at a local deli, and they have a mail away service for their slicers. I don't think it's something the average consumer is going to tackle. A new blade is around $30. 2. Cleaning the unit is straightforward but does require a little extra attention when you remove the blade. There isn't a great way to hold the blade while you wash it by hand. 3. The rubber feet on the bottom don't really hold it in place on the kitchen counter. It doesn't move around a lot but does slowly shift to the side. The sharpening issue is the big deal, the other two points are pretty minor. Buying a slicer with a built-in sharpener gets over $300 pretty quickly, which is more than I'm willing to spend. Otherwise, it is unbroken and ready to use every time without fail. Edit Aug 2024 - The slicer is still working fine. However, the food carriage lock button (black rectangle that says Slice/ Lock/ Remove) has fallen off and I'm unable to put it back on. Maybe a drop of glue would hold it, but I'm concerned that the glue would spread and stick the lock in one place. I can use the tip of a ballpoint pen to move the lock, but it's somewhat inconvenient. I'll leave my rating at 4 stars, but build quality is suspect.

Simple to use, light weight, perfect for apartment use
I had to choose between this and the the Beswood 10" Premium Chromium-plated Carbon Steel Blade Electric Deli Meat Cheese Food Slicer. Due to its price I bought the Chef's Choice slicer. It is a bit small and light weight. I have used it and and it works really good. Slicing a 10 lb turkey, the machine has a bit difficulty cutting very thin slices. you need to push down hard enough to make enough contact between the blade and the pushing tray. It did the job but I was not convinced its worth. I ordered the Beswood 10 the next day to compare. Though the Beswood 10 costs twice as much, it also performs much better. Since I don't have storage problem in my kitchen, I keep the Beswood and return the Chef's Choice. I want to say the Chef's Choice is an excellent machine. My decision was more of a personal preference. I like the Beswood due it its weight and ease on pressing down the meat as you slice. If you live in a small apartment and you need to tuck away your appliances, the Chef's Choice would be the perfect machine to own.

Easy to use, not too bad to clean
We love this thing. We cut blocks of turkey, ham, cheese in just a few minutes. Cleanup is pretty easy, but maneuvering the thing around can be a little clunky - sponge and toothbrush clean it then just wipe it off with a dish towel because trying to rinse it might get the motor wet and is kind of big to maneuver. Noise level isn't too bad, but I wouldn't do it at 3am. There are things that could be better but are superficial, like the catch tray could actually attach during storage, preferably over the blade... but it is free floating. Storing in the box isn't a good idea because the styrofoam makes it too tight of a fit for repeated use, but not using it the box bottom went support the device very well, so we use a leftover heavy duty fruit box from Sam's and throw a towel over the top to store it.

Versatile and good quality
I bought this for cutting homemade sourdough bread and it cuts through the thick crust with ease. The quality is high and it folds up easily for storage in a cabinet, which is good since it's more functional than designed for show. Using it saves a lot of bread since it can be easily frozen and thawed out. I'm shocked however to see that the price increased more than three times since I paid less than $100 for it in February 2024. Inflation?

This is a great product for the price
For an inexpensive electric slicer this one performs far above expectations. So far I have sliced a cooked and raw roast, raw chicken breasts very thin (buy the smooth edge blade for this). It comes apart completely for cleaning. If you have never used an electric slicer before, there is a little bit of a learning curve with how much pressure to apply to the thickness setting you use. You get the hang of it very quickly. I like it. I have owned it a short time, if anything changes I will update this review. There are You Tube videos demonstrating the use. I highly recommend you watch them. A little knowledge goes a long way. Especially if you are like me and need a visual rather than just reading instructions. Do both, you will be very happy.

Meat wraps around the drive gear smothered in lubrication
I bought this meat slicer after arduous long research to make organic jerky treats for my dogs with a dehydrator since pet treats prices have been going up insanely. Initially, the meat slicer seemed to work well but at the end of slicing, I noticed that some meat got stuck between the blade that I had to pull out. When I detached the blade for cleaning, I was horrified to see that the plastic drive gear underneath was wrapped around with raw beef and the meat I pulled out was probably tainted with lubrication that looked like blobs of white shortening. The entire saw base plate was a huge mess with meat fragments and blood combined with the lubrication that's hopefully food safe for the contaminated meat slices but the manual only mentions using Vaseline for plate lubrication and no extra lub was supplied. I used wooden toothpicks to pick out all the meat fragments from the gear slots and checked the reviews to see if anyone else reported the problem with meat getting lodged behind the saw blade. Since nothing came up for meat wrapping on the gear, I tried again with thicker cuts and tried grabbing each meat slice as they were coming out the back through the slice deflector, but some meat still managed to get caught into the blade, again making a mess. I also noticed the edge of the blade support paint was ground down from the back side of the saw blade exposing the base metal from cutting a few pounds of meat that 1st day I received the unit. Whether this particular slicer was a lemon or not, I couldn't imagine keeping it and dealing with the bloody unsanitary mess. I sent it back for a refund that day. I've since resorted to slicing half frozen meat by hand and realized that it is actually much quicker than using a meat slicer including the cleanup, and my dogs absolutely love homemade jerkies.

Professional cuts
I like everything about this unit. Adjustable width up to an inch. Most slicers only hi to 3/4 inch. Easy to clean as the ad proclaimed. Easy to understand simple instructions. Works superbly. Stores away conveniently. I use it to slice jerky or go wider slice and cut a quality roast into steaks or pork chops. Saves money. Great product!

Professional customer service
It was a beautiful product unfortunately the UK power voltage doesn’t compete with it, so I have to make the return. The seller has one of the best e-commerce customer service I have ever seen. Very supportive and very professional!

Excellent home meat slicer that fits well between budget and restaurant-grade options.
I've been using the Chef's Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer for a few months now, and it has completely changed the way I prepare meals for my family. I find myself using it multiple times a day - it's that useful! It's great for quickly slicing cabbage, cucumbers, and carrots for coleslaw, and it makes it easy to salt cure pork and slice it thin for charcuterie. I've also used it to turn roast beef and pork into sandwich meat in seconds, and it's perfect for slicing bread and cheese to any thickness. One of the things I love most about this slicer is how easy it is to clean. All of the major moving parts can be easily removed and washed in the sink. As a pro tip, I'd recommend purchasing the circular blade option for better micro-thin slicing of softer foods, and be sure to wear cut-proof gloves while using the slicer to stay safe. You may also want to invest in some food grade grease to keep the blade lubricated in certain parts - the unit comes pre-lubricated, but after multiple cleanings you will need to lubricate one or two points. Don't worry, this takes all of 10 seconds every 4-5 cleanings. One thing to note is that the Chef's Choice 615A is made of a mix of heavy plastic and metal, which makes it sturdier and quieter than many budget slicers on the market. The blade is also extremely sharp and can slice most anything paper thin. Overall, I highly recommend the Chef's Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer. It's a great value for the price, sitting somewhere between budget slicers ($100) and professional belt-driven slicers ($700). It's a kitchen gadget that you'll use practically every day, and it will eventually pay for itself as it makes it so much easier and more cost-effective to prepare meals at home.
