After returning home from the war, Sutton (Keanu Reeves) accepts that his wife has no interest in him or his plans for the future, and sets out in search of a new life on his own. He soon meets up with a vineyard owner's daughter (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón), but she finds out she is pregnant and fears for her life when it comes to telling her father. Sutton then agrees to help her by pretending to be her new husband, a decision which will change both of their lives forever. excellent quality
This US blu ray disc played fine in our UK blu ray disc player so my wife was really pleased as this is one of her favourite films and I could only see it on Amazon as a US import disc. I don't know if it would play in any other UK blu ray players but it works fine in ours. Pleasant story well told. More my wife's cup of tea to be honest. Picture quality stunning in blu ray.

Have now two examples, in case of one get lost.
One of the most beautiful movies in my large collection...and if my house stood on fire, this would be one of the 50 I would save. And what a performance by the actors here! I didn`t know much about Giancarlo Giannini and Aitana Sanchez Gijon when I ordered this film some years ago, but now they have my attention. Anthony Quinn is at his best here, and so is Keanu Reeves. I think most people will love this film, and watch it over and over again, and really feel it in their hearts every time.

Keanu Reeves (Actor), Aitana Sanchez-Gijon (Actor) staring in a fairy-tale of unexpected love against her father's conservatism and succeeding thanks to an accidental fire in the family vineyard caused by the father.

Ein Film mit einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre
Die außergewöhnliche und wunderschöne Liebesgeschichte wird mit viel Menschlichkeit, Wärme und Sinnlichkeit erzählt. Zusätzlich ist dieser Film auch ein absoluter Augenschmaus. Ich kann diesen Film immer wieder anschauen, ohne dass er mit auch nur einen Augenblick langweilig wird.

Bester Liebesfilm
Für mich der schönste Liebesfilm überhaupt. Kein Hoolywood blabla, super gespielt, der Großvater genial gespielt. Und Keanu kann nicht nur Aktion, auch sehr einfühlsam spielen. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
