After a lot of research, I decided to go with the FishPRO 1080p 7" with DVR over some of the competitors. There are others available for about $120 less, but the upgrades on this one (hi-def picture, DVR capabilities, much longer battery life, USB charging, tripod mount, compact design, ease of use) are WELL worth the extra expense and more than you get on other higher priced cameras. I set this up on a cheap photographer's tripod, and it's rock solid, works flawlessly with a great picture and makes fishing more fun. Lot's of options out there, but this is the best bang for the buck. Update: After an hour of use on the ice, the screen froze and the unit failed to respond to ANY buttons on the control panel (wouldn't even shut off until the battery ran out). I was able to return it to Amazon within the 30-day return window, and another is on the way - no hassles. Happy to assume I just got a lemon, so I'll keep the five-star rating unless the new unit proves me wrong. Unfortunately, the ice is melting and I might not find out until next year!

The 1080p HD offers a lot of detail that is not visible on a 720p camera. When using the camera, the clarity is excellent (provided the water isn’t too turbid) and the bright led lights expand visibility when ice fishing. Attaching the provided weights to the camera body holder does require either some metal snaps or fishing leader. We used snap swivel snaps to attach ours. The camera offers great advantages in ice fishing over sonar in that the size of the fish is readily apparent in the large camera view screen. The view screen is adjustable for easy viewing. We love this camera and look forward to using it for many years.

Mainly use it on ocean pier. Camera is pretty clear, but DVR records to an internal SD Card that is not built to be accessible. So after you record some footage you have no way to pull the videos off the system. It has a USB-C Port for charging but plug it into a PC and it is not detected (nothing added to device manager). So I Opened it up (6 screws on bottom) and removed the bottom cover. This exposed the SD card. Sd card is in a normal SD Reader slot but the card has a tiny bit of glue on it. I removed the glue and then pulled out the card. Once the SD Card (32gb generic card) is placed in a PC then you can see the card is formatted as 32bit filesystem. The files are in the root folder and they are .avi files @ 1080/30fps I placed a replacement 32gb SD card formatted as 32bit... so far no issues. Side note... the screws that hold on the base are philips but are VERY CHEAP!!! So if you go to remove them make sure your screwdriver is not slightly too small... if you do try to use a smaller screw driver then it will strip it out

Best FishCam going! Took the wife to Panama City Beach, we walked out to the end of the Pier at Pier Park. Setup the camera, dropped it in- wow .. even though we were experiencing considerable currents- and visibility was low- the camera was easy to steer and manage. We were SO surprised to see a sea turtle under the pier! I also didn't know they left the old pilings laying on the bottom. Pier to water was 25 ft. Water depth was another 25-30 feet. Wasn't a problem! We're going to have a lot of fun with this.

Used for 5 minutes (or less) and placed it in it's case. Went to use it 3 weeks later and it's dead. Fully charged, 8 days past return window and a completely worthless piece of electronics.

Recently purchased this underwater camera for watching fish’s behavior, and I'm beyond impressed with its performance! The image quality is pretty clear, even in low-light conditions, and the waterproofing is top-notch！

Everything arrived as needed. Set up was extremely easy. I also received notice that my camera had received a 2025 update to include a DVR. You can't beat the price especially with this clear picture of a picture.
