Skull & Co. GripCase SD for SteamDeck: A Soft Protective Case with Textured Grips Full Protection and Stand, Shock-Absorption Non-Slip and Anti-Scratch Cover Design - Galactic Purple

My favorite Steam Deck case out of the three that I've purchased. My biggest gripe with most cases is the grip (hand fatigue), Bumper access, and color ways. This one meets two out of three; I love purple, but still wish I had a different color to choose from. She takes a good drop here or there, but that's from my hands to the desk, not from sitting or standing all the way to the floor. Doesn't pass too much heat from the system, somewhat light, easy to put on, and stands on its own. Had it for a year and it's still going strong.

I love the Deck but I find its surface a bit rough and it causes my hands to get sweaty after long play sessions. This fixes that and adds a really nice texture to it. It also of course protects it from scratches and some drops. Its effect on overall ergonomics isn’t massive, but the Steam Deck already excels at that anyway and this allows it to fit in the official case (it’s a tight fit but you can definitely make it work). It’s very easy to put on and take off, can be done with little effort but it still feels secure. You can’t use it with the official but that’s where another bonus feature comes in: you can stand it up. No kickstand or anything, just put it down straight and it’ll stay upright. This is obviously just useful in general but it gets around the dock issue because you can just stand the Deck up in front of the dock and then plug it in. Awesome product!

I’m not a huge fan of the giant added grips as someone with smaller hands. Having the offering as something slim and grippy that meshes with the oled steam deck is really appreciated. The black matches the deck perfectly so the color is great. The thickness is noticeable but super flush. It slips in perfectly and causes no issues with ease of use. The protection is there for the back; but of course the device is exposed at the front so keep it in a case when traveling. I have the oled steam deck case and it fits perfect with the case on inside it. My only complaint (and it’s a nitpick) is that the button cover doesn’t match the oled steam deck (who’s only differing feature on a body level is said button). I kinda wish it had an orange button option. Otherwise, the value is great so I recommend you buy it!

This case is wonderful. I wanted a little bit larger grip on the deck and this works perfectly and also still fits in the OEM case. I was having some thumb pain formerly when hitting the “O” button on the deck and this has given me enough extra grip and space to move my thumb so it doesn’t bother me anymore. I would recommend this to anyone. Things to note, I use a little right angle plug for my charger so I can charge my deck in the case. It doesn’t fit quite right due to the thickness of this. Feels high quality, easily comes off and on the deck without falling off during use.

Fitment is excellent. I LOVE this grip case! The Steamdeck is pretty comfortable as it is, but the matte plastic surface would sometimes feel a bit slippery. It's like comparing the dualsense vs the dualsense edge, the rubber pieces on the grips make all the difference. Same goes for the Steamdeck, this grip case just makes holding it feel more secure and grippy. It also fits in the oem Steamdeck case, although not perfectly, but it does. I especially love that you can stand the Steamdeck vertically, like a display unit without needing the dock. 10/10 I would recommend this case, hands down.

Took a gamble on adding a case to my Steamdeck, went with the Skull & Co GripCase. As much as I liked ergos of the deck as it is, I wanted something that could add just a touch more tactility. This case does just that! A little thickness and some texturing does wonders for me. The coyote color is super cool, but I think the galactic purple is gorgeous and the black could be a great blank canvas for someone more artistic than I. I was surprised to find that it fits the stock deck case, which is awesome for me because I didn’t want to order the Skull & Co EDC Carrying Case as I find the one provided with the deck to be quite serviceable. It’s a bit snug in said Valve case, yes. Had I not replaced the stock thumbsticks to Hall effect ones, I’d probably be concerned. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up with the EDC Carrying Case and it’s SD card slots and what looks like a pocket for cords and such. It also fits my dock of choice: the Sabrent 6-Port Docking Station. It’s more snug, and the deck sits more vertically à la a Nintendo Switch in a switch dock. Very steady in the dock, in my opinion. TLDR: aside from the snug fit in the stock Valve carrying case, which may worry some, it’s a great Steamdeck Grip and you should consider it. 4.5 / 5 Stars Overall a great buy if you’re looking for something like this and your needs are similar to mine. SUPER light compared to Dbrand and Jsaux Killswitch cases which will make your arms numb laying in bed. The case is the superior option for using original carrying case from valve. And it comes on and off very easily. Skull &Co also make great thumbstick grips for deck. Sold!

There has been a debate for a long time now of who has the best steamdeck case. It's been a toss up between jsaux, D brand, and skull and co. For me, skull and Co is the winner. I'm a very simple human being. I don't need alot of bells and whistles on things. It just needs to be able to fit in the case and be sleek. Skull and co has accomplished this. It's a very bare bones case that has a very grippy texture and best of all, it doesn't fall into the "we have 80 different things you can stick on it" pit. What you see is what you get. It's just a simple soft case thats a bit more flat at the bottom of the grips so you can stand it up and that's about it. There's no extra rubber framing around the triggers and shoulder buttons like the other grips so you don't have to worry about it interfering with button function. Skull and co literally addresses all of the issues the other grips have with this grip case and it's nice. Best of all it's easy to put on and it fits effortlessly into the stock oled Steamdeck case even when you have thumbstick caps attached as well. It's amazing. You can tell they understood the assignment. If you want bare bones, skull and co is the way to go.

One of the best skins for the steam deck! Tried a few other brands and this by far is the one the works best for me. Comfortable and protective and really nice that it can stand up on a desk without a kickstand.
