Impressive, better than I expected
This is an initial review. The scope arrived quickly from Amazon. Hopefully this will answer some of the concerns for you that I had before I purchased. Everything was packaged well, there was no damage. The firmware version in the scope was higher than the one offered on the website, check before updating. Be sure to perform a long format on your SD card before using, this is just a good habit. I comes complete with the 3 mounts, IR emitter w/batteries, sunshade and eyecup, USB cable, neoprene scope cover and the wrenches you need. It is truly a complete package. The battery was at 30% it took a while to charge because my charger was only 1 amp. Get a 2 amp as recommended you will be happier. The only issue I had was with the compass, it was stuck on north. I called tech support and they answered right away. I was instructed to rotate the scope on the 3 axis's 13 times each and it my take a few attempts. the problem was corrected right away. It is mounted on an air rifle. The clarity in day mode is excellent. Night mode is a little (very little) grainy but clear enough to shoot consistent 10X"s. The IR emitters is good, be sure to follow the instructions on focus and aligning. I can see an upgrade in the future. The one shot zero is fantastic, exactly as advertised. The WIFI though the iPhone and the app is great. I have still yet to get through the features as it will take a while. Keep in mind that this is far different from your standard glass scope. You should look at some videos to see if its right for you. It is a bit pricey but the value is there, the unit is well made and full of features a glass scope will never have. I almost never write a review this scope earned it.

Very nice, clear night mode vision.
I originally got one of these for Christmas of 2020. I set it up on an AR-15 to try it out that night. Zeroing (once i actually watched the directions) was simple and quick. It worked wonderful for setting up on and seeing the feral hogs at night. The image is clean at night with only moon light, but is even better with the light that comes with the scope kit. I have used the day mode and night modes and both work great and provide a clean crisp picture at all distances out to 300 yards (I do not generally shoot beyond this - so I can't say for distances beyond this). The auto-centering component is also a very welcome capability. It took me a couple times to "get it down" so to speak, but that was admittedly my misunderstanding of the directions. Once I went back to the video of the instructions, I went through the sequence properly and it centered right on bullseye. (I then redid it a few times so as to get it wired into my brain - it is really simple actually - it was my own error in what I though I was pushing, that that had me messing up the first time. ) I love it so much so, that my wife got me another one this year - and that is now on the 308 (DPMS). I have yet to use the video capabilities --- I am not a techy at all - but I figure this spring or summer I am going to spend some time with it so as to get proficient with that aspect of the scope's abilities as well.

Updated review.
I am writing an updated review for this scope. It started out very rough, and had me ready to return it to Amazon, but is has all worked out in the end. THE GOOD: *** This is an amazing piece of technology....when it works. The firmware on this scope can be pretty buggy at times. You have to learn the quirks of this scope, and once you get used to them it is amazing. I mounted this on my .224 Valkyrie, plugged in the ballistics data, and zeroed it. It is dead on! The one-shot zero works, but you'll find that 3 - 6 shots gives you a little better results. I put the ABL on this scope. I laze the target, get the range, and it automatically adjusts the reticle for that range. I put steel plates at 50 yards, 100 yards, 200 yards, and 300 yards. I switch between the different ranges without any adjustments, and the scope is dead on (using the ABL). *** The battery lasts! I've taken it out to the range for 5 hours, with the ABL attached via bluetooth, the WiFi on, and connected to the BinoX. The battery is still almost full. *** It comes with everything you need (except the charging plug). The scope comes with rings. I've heard good and bad about the rings, but I torqued them down using a torque driver with blue Loctite, and it has held perfectly. IT comes with an eyecup, IR light, and charging cable as well. *** The Recoil Activated Video (RAV) works great! I've got mine set to 5 seconds prior and 5 seconds after. Instead of having 10 minutes of video that you have to pan through to find your shots, you will have a handful of short videos (10 seconds long for my settings) that starts right before your shot! *** It pairs with the ABL and BinoX seamlessly. I got the BinoX because I wanted the laser range finder to plug range data in to the scope, but I wanted to be able to take the abilities of the scope with me outside of shooting. When paired, you can laze a target with the BinoX to get the range, and it automatically feeds it to the scope. After using the BinoX, I decided I wanted one to be dedicated to the scope, which is the ABL. I mounted it, zeroed it, and it works GREAT! You control it from your scope, so you laze the target to get the range, and it adjusts your reticle automatically to put your shot on target. There are some really neat features for this scope. THE BAD: *** It is BUGGY! When I got this and updated the firmware, I was ready to return this to Amazon and swear my life to badmouthing ATN. The firmware would lock up the scope, leaving it without an interface. Thanks to a great group on Facebook and a very helpful Youtube video, I was able to get it working. ATN just recently released a new firmware update which seems to fix it. I feel like they're getting there, but they're still short of perfect. *** ATN's customer service is very lacking. I tried contacting them via their webpage contact form, their Facebook page, calling on the phone, and Facebook private message. I left them voicemails and emails. A couple of weeks went by, and I still had not received any reply from them. Someone provided an email address on Facebook, which worked. When I emailed Gerald, he replied that morning (on a Sunday). Since contacting him, I have gotten replies back in a very reasonable time. One customer service rep contacted me saying he would get my problem fixed (a couple of days after speaking with Gerald). He said he would email me that day, which he didn't. He finally contacted me back a week later and told me that he would send me an ABL for my problems. I still haven't received it, nor a reply from him. Ce la vie. *** QC is lacking. There are a number of reports of the provided USB cable not fitting. I can verify that this is the case, sometimes the head of the USB cable is a little too big and will not fit into the compartment where the USB port is. The good news is that it uses a standard USB-C cable. *** It comes with a lot, but it is missing a few things that really should have been included. It doesn't come with a charging plug, only a cable. I know...there are millions of us out there with a handful of these cables, but for that one person that doesn't have one, this would be a real pain. Also, it doesn't come with lens caps. Being a guy that has nice cameras, telescopes, scopes, and spotting scopes, I believe in taking care of my lenses. I do not like leaving them exposed. It would have been nice for ATN to provide the correct lens caps for the scope. Overall, now that they've got the firmware straightened out (for the most part), I am very happy with the scope. Using the ABL or the BinoX with this scope makes it pretty accurate automatically. Like I mentioned before, I was switching between 50, 100, 200, & 300 yards with the scope updating the reticle automatically. If you have problems, you'll be on your own to get help from Youtube & Facebook. Their customer service is very lacking, but the community support is great! I would recommend this scope if you're a tech nerd like myself, and an avid shooter. If you're looking for a long-range scope (over 500 yards), you can find better options for the price. If you're looking for a good mid-range scope with the ability to record video, take photos, and automatically adjust ballistics, this is the scope for you!

In Depth Technial Review ATN 4k pro 5x20 with ABL1500 laser range finder
My use case: I opted for getting this with the ABL range finder accessory. I'm very happy with this product so far. Great value for the price. Worth the money even if interested in only one or two of its many features. I use this on a high powered 25 cal PCP air rifle for hunting rabbits birds etc. Prior to the ATN, I didn't like how fiddly it was to pick up a range finder, range a target, put the info into Chairgun/Strelok (Ballistics calculator), determine hold over/under, the set scope for the shot, awe... the animal is gone... This seemed like a better, faster way. A bit of a steep learning curve for the ballistics calculator. I was NOT disappointed, this IS a better way . Memo to the traditionalists: Glass scopes will always have a place in the industry. However, this type of technology will inevitably overwhelm the market space in much the same way DSLRs now dominate the SLR/film camera market or how electric cars are gradually taking over the roads as battery endurance improves. This technology has arrived! now go enjoy it. Be sure to bias that enthusiasm with my section on optical quality though =] Night Vision This is an IR camera based night vision technology not a thermal camera and performs fantastically! There are some great YouTube videos distinguishing the difference. IR illumination is required. Mine came with an illumination device in the box. The Illuminator takes CR123a batteries and are not re-chargable. After market re-chargeables may be available. Stock illuminator is very adequate out to 150-200 yards or so, target identification gets a little tricky out past that distance depending on animal size, deer vs racoon, vs rat, etc. Optical Quality The optical quality for this scope is probably the weakest element of this still fantastic product. It is not as good as a comparable 5x20 glass scope of similar price point. That said, its good enough to identify your target (hunting) and if tuned correctly, take a very extended ethical shot. If you want to admire an animal from a distance with this, it may not be for you (though i do enjoy bird watching with it at my feeder). I was happily surprised that this product will digital zoom past 20x all the way to about 50x (grainy but nice to have) Software stability I have read numerous articles about this scope crashing etc. It crashed and crashed hard on me the first day i got it. The customer service and support for the product was excellent (available Saturdays by email), as are the user guides are posted on YouTube. After a factory software install, i was back in business. I have only had this scope for a few days, so stability jury is still out. Another nice feature is you can save your ballistics data to the SD card, have several profiles ballistics for multiple rifles. I recently switched between rifles and found the one shot zero feature very nice (i still took a couple of shots, but zeroing is a breeze). Ballistics Calculator (Built-in vs ABL Ranger finder) This was my primary motivation for this product. Again, i bought the ABL range finder accessory for this. IF you are not familiar with ballistics calculation theory in general, you WILL most likely fail at using this feature with any success. This scope will expedite the calculation and aimpoint but it will not make up for lack of knowledge in this subject. There is a built-in range finder but its method of calculation uses measuring the height of a known object at a distance. The height must be known for this to work. There are some built in presets (deer, and other animals). The laser range finder is fantastic. There are also some great YouTube videos contrasting these two methods. A great feature; if you are zoomed way in, range a very distant target compared to your scope's zero, the aimpoint shift, rather than dropping out the bottom of the field of view, the image frustum is adjusted to the aimpoint at the same zoom level. This may be confusing at first but an excellent user interface choice by the designers. I would recommend tweaking the BC between very short and very long distances (distances you expect to shoot at) to ensure that the bullet drop matches what its supposed to be. This feature takes a bit of time and effort to tune it in, but once it is it will not disappoint. The ABL range finder has an aimpoint that is different from the scope's aimpoint so when you range the target, the rangefinder crosshair will likely be slightly off center from your scope's zero, its not bad at all but a bit confusing at first. UPDATE: when the ballistics calculator is turned on, it will report the number of inches of drop and windage based on the range and shooting angle inputs. You can use these numbers against your trusty old ballistics calculator to sanity check weather everything is working right. Try this a several distances (i did 25,75,100,150 yards). Since i use for pellets not bullets the GL ballistics model was chosen, still different from pellet. using my GS model in chairgun, i biased the BC on the ATN scope till the two calculators matched within a half inch or so. PUNCHLINE, you can make the GL model work for pellets this way. Ease of use (Hunting, Weight, User Interface) Scope with laser rangefinder and ir illuminator starts to get heavy, over 3lbs. so consider if you want to lug 3+ lbs around with you on a hunt. (UPDATE: Ive been using this now for a while and don't mind the weight) User interface is a little busy but there are a lot of features packed into this scope. Software designers did a fairly decent job of it (custom shortcuts would be nice). Once you learn your way around its not so bad. Once setup correctly, quickly ranging a target and getting the aimpoint figured out is fast and hassle free. The ABL range finder aim point will not likely be in parallel with the scope's zero. The result is the apoint for accurate range readings will likely change over distance, calibrate ABL range finder aimpoint to the center of the range of distances you expect to shoot and you'll be good. Using the scope at night leaves one of my eyes' night vision ruined while the other in tact, so when pulling away from the scope, it leaves me a bit wonky eyed for a bit (My eys are 43 years old so your results may vary) The daytime brightness of the screen is great no issues seeing it during the day. There is a rubber boot that covers the view screen and helps screen viability during day while pointed into the sun. Video/Photo recording: haven't messed with this really. There are lots of videos out there on this that illustrate this, check then out Really nice and easy to take videos and photos through the scope though in comparison to aftermarket products to bolt a go-pro, cellphone, or camera to your glass scope, many of which cost upwards of an additional 300$. This product is way easier to use in that regard and cheaper all around. UPDATE 4/29/3030 Cell phone app: Obsidian 4 version 1.42 I found this app to be pretty worthless. Lots of video lag unusable for shooting with. It wont let you enter ballistics BC below 0.1 (pellets typically are 0.02-3ish). NOTE: you can enter correct BC through the scope itself. not sure why the app doesnt match this. you cant edit all the features through the app and the user interface is slightly different.

Really very disappointed
I spent years wanting one of these. The ads made it the scope to buy but when I finally got this I was in awww until everything went wrong with it. Out of the box I was overwhelmed with the tech. Everything was so cool and new. The first problem was the compass. Always went to error when I tried to calibrate it. Watched a video from ATN and it said if it goes to error it's bad and needs to be replaced. I figured I would try it through hunting season since I only had about a week and a half before first shot. Everything else seemed to work until we went to the range. At the 50 yard range we zeroed it in perfectly. Took a bit to find the first shot as it was bore bore sighted incorrectly. After that it was zeroed in amazingly. Beautiful and nice. The others at the range were impressed and wanted to see it. I was hitting Robinhood shots. Perfect.... right? Took it to the 100 yard range right after and I was hitting off the large target very badly. We were confused. Finally started zeroing in again and we were making our way slowly to the center when everyone wanted to check out their targets. We set the rifle down and with everyone else we covered the target holes down range and came back. Next shot was lost?...... what? Another shot off target?..... wait a minute I was 3 inches right and on target before we walked up range. Another shot....... way way way way way left in the dirt. WTF..... how did that happen. We tried zeroing in another 15 rounds on my .308. All together 40 rounds were wasted and nothing was back on target again. $55 dollars wasted in ammo. As soon as I got home I contacted Amazon and returned the scope. I went to cabela's and bought a vortex $500 venom scope I believe. Nice scope and zeroed in in 10 shots between both 50 yard range and 100 yard range. Very disappointed in this ATN scope as I've wanted one for years..... why do I get the crap ones that don't work and have issues? We were talking to a friend that commented that if the compass is broken there may be more broken or loose parts in the scope. No matter what, the product is not great and while it looks impressive the company production has horrible issues. I do not recommend. Think of it this way.... this happened to me right away. This could have loose part issues and you may not know it till it's past warranty. Do better ATN. We deserve better. Hopefully they get better in the future with a better warranty(lifetime) and then I may try them again. Make it better. Very disappointed.

Amazing scope all around
In the photos the dump truck is 25 yards away the pick up truck was 200 yards away but the picture didnt turn out. Im gonna have to play with settings but that pick up truck was just as clear as the dump truck. Both clear as day with stock ir. I got this product today ill update later once i use it more but my initial reaction to this scope is it is great. It was Super clear i was seeing 200 yards in pitch black with the stock ir light. Once i figured out how to properly adjust the ir light and zoom it to a smaller beam it was really easy to align before that i got what many other said blurry couldnt see past 100 yards. The scope came in packaged great no damage or anything. The scope its self the screen is great inside once you get the proper eye relief. Its easy to function and figure out the quick start guide helps alot i had some issues updating it called atn the said what to do and it worked just fine. But i needed a better wifi connection on my end as well to their fix the files weren't actually fully downloading so i couldn't use them. But after that it runs great and functions good i only currently have like four hours of playing and figuring it out and aligning once I actually shoot it and use it abit i will update this review.

Coolest scope on the market.
Let me just start by saying this is so far advanced from the old school 3-9x40 that we're all used to. I wanted something advanced like this to up my game for long range accuracy. There's a lot to learn on this scope such as navigating the menu, setting up profiles, entering in ballistics, zeroing in, etc. But after you learn the functions of everything it is extremely awesome. Zeroing in is simple as soon as you get a shot on paper. Setting up your profile with ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity, bullet weight, and range of zero ensures accuracy at numerous ranges. The range finder is awesome. It's simple to use. Just figure out the height of your target, mark the top, then mark the bottom. Bam, you have an accurate range. The night vision is clear. It's black and white. The infrared Illuminator is quite impressive how it lights up the field of view. I'm looking forward to using it coyote hunting. The customization is one of my favorite features. Depending on the target I'm shooting at I'll switch the reticle shape and color. That's helpful when I switch from shooting a red target with green reticle to a yellow target with a black or red reticle. Overall I've enjoyed this scope more than any other. It has got me to challenge myself at longer and longer distances. I've even let friends shoot my gun and they've loved the scope. It's a big hit.

Great product, but no support
I read all the reviews and spent months reviewing different scopes before deciding to buy this item. Well the second day the screen went snow white and stayed that way. Turning it off and on had no effect. I submitted a ticket on their web site stating that i just received this item and one day later it does not work. I have yet to receive anything from ATN, and its been 2 weeks. I used their website and followed the procedure listed to wipe and reset the scope to factory spec, this worked and the scope powers up and works fine, but has a nasty problem of loosing the reticle after using the range finder feature. If streaming to your phone it will be on the phone but not on the screen of the scope. Basically its a nice concept and helps alot for older eyes, but they still have issues to work out in the firmware and their tech support should all be fired because they don't answer tickets anyway. So buyer beware to the people like me who buy this scope, we are beta testers, hopefully it will pay off in the end and we get updates that actually make this product useful, because as of today I would not use this product for any hunt, its not even good for the range at the moment.

Works Great !!
Works just like they say, very happy with this product. No Issues so far and from my research sound like ATN stands behind their product.

Scope is good accessories not so much
The scope does exactly as advertised except it is a bit grainy when zoomed right in. There is a problem with accessories working great then just stop working and a nightmare to get working again. It’s a common problem with accessories being hit and miss (remote and abl)

faulty scope
We received a faulty scope. Very hard to get tech help from ATN

Stock Infrared Light Came Broken!
Anyone else has this issue? Set up the scope with the IRL and it's not working. Tried different batteries for the infrared light and nothing. You should see the difference in illumination once it's on highest. Scope works fine. Haven't contacted ATN customer service yet, hopefully they can resolve this and send us a new IRL. Not sure if they will ship it to Ontario though, fingers crossed! Was a Christmas gift for husband!!
