Potential to be a great device, however so unusable in its current state. I have very strong internet and WiFi and I couldn't cloud stream games to the point they were playable. Had high hopes for this but sadly had to return.

I have ordered this product to use while family members are using the TV. I had done extensive research on this products and was aware it was remote play before even purchasing. Made a few arrangements such as new WiFi boosters located around the house to make sure I get the best experience. Sadly this was not the case, it won’t connect to my PlayStation at all. It would disconnect every 60 seconds and when it did connect it was low quality. This had really been an upsetting experience. And to put into perspective I was not using for online gaming just story play. If there is one thing you should take from this product is that it’s a great idea Sony has tried to create but sadly not something I would be recommend to my friends and family.

I really wanted to keep this and the idea is good. But unfortunately it's terrible. The input lag and buffering on this device is shockingly bad considering I've strong Internet connection. There's tips on line to improve the performance by unplugging your hdmi cable from the console or turning the video out put on the ps5 to 1080p. This still did not help. Why a 200 pound device isn't capable of doing the basics Is absurd. Put it this way with out Internet this is a 200 pound lump of useless plastic. It's a shame because the rare moments it did work I enjoyed it and I can see the appeal.

Hello there, I bought this in Oder to connect to my PS 5 but it keeps on freezing, and takes too long to connect and after connecting and playing the game is very slow and freezing as well. The picture of the game is not too clear and the sounds keeps on breaking and when u press a key it takes a while for action. Please can I return it ?

Worked fine for a couple of weeks and now it won’t play more than 5 minutes before it goes blurry and disconnects from the internet. Checked internet speed and I have 903mbs internet. Don’t waste your money

The PlayStation portal was faulty from the get go, buttons not working properly and freezing screen when they did this. I returned it after just 2 days and 2 weeks later still awaiting the refund, that was approved. I had to pay for my own shipping back, which was £15 as I had to use special delivery. I would shop with caution. I will update the seller feedback when I eventually get my refund. My son still is without a birthday present because of this.

Brought this so that my kids could use the playstation when I was using the TV but it does not connect to all the users on the PS, and requires a network account. This means that my account connects fine but that they are now crying and arguing. Could have been solved so easily, but its just a disappointing money grab that doesn't consider families.

Rubbish got it really excited got it packaged well it would not work at first then worked and stopped again tried everything to fix it. I got a new one existed again but did not work hate it Sony tried to make something new and brilliant DO NOT BUY

Fraîchement déballé, arrivé en moins de 24H après commande. La qualité du produit est simplement folle, en main c’est luxueux, ça sent le haut de gamme. À peine déballée, la première tentative de connexion a été un échec, ma ps5 non relié en filaire directement à la fibre ne fournissait pas un débit suffisant pour pouvoir connecter le portal. Après branchement en direct de la console j’ai retenté l’opération La connexion a été immédiate, la fluidité relativement incroyable, quelques petites latence relevée mais qui n’ont pas duré Proche de la boxe, la partie en ligne a également été un succès avec aucune coupure. Un peu plus éloigné (2 barres de réseau sur 3), en ligne j’ai eu un beau lag, qui a duré 2 secondes environ avant que ça reprenne son rythme. C’est un test à chaud, mais la première impression et premier usage me confirme que j’ai bien fait de tester le portal et ne pas rester sur la connectivité via l’app remote. J’avais testé la manette backbone. Autant vous dire que c’est incomparable. Le portal est un bel atout à ceux qui aiment jouer compact, avec une définition et une qualité d’image qui est simplement incroyable. L’écran ne m’a pas du tout gêné, la luminosité fait entièrement le taf, Le son est bon, pas parfait, mais très passable Si on connaît les défauts de cette machine, mais qu’on en apprécie ses qualités, c’est une extension bien pensée, bien réalisée, et qui personnellement ne me fait pas regretter mon achat!

Es wurde viel kritisiert, dass das Gerät ausschließlich PS5 Spiele wieder geben kann. Ich muss sagen, genau so etwas habe ich mir gewünscht. Ich habe bereits PS5 über die PS Remote App und eine Drittanbieterapp und den Razor Kishi gespielt. Das geht, jedoch war mir der Bildschirm zu klein. Ansonsten klappte das ganz gut. Ich habe nun 2 Abende die Portal getestet und bin begeistert. Meine PS5 steht in meinem Kino im Keller. Es macht wirklich Spaß, mit Dolby Atmos und 4K-Beamer zu zocken. Doch manchmal möchte ich vielleicht im Wohnzimmer spielen, oder im Bett und nicht immer in den Keller gehen. Viele Gamer Spielen anscheinend auch am Tablet mit Dualsense. Auch das habe ich getestet, finde es jedoch unglaublich umständlich. Außerdem muss das Tablet irgengwo stehen, wodurch die wahrgenommene Bildschirmdiagonale wieder kleiner ist, als das 8 Zoll Display in meiner Hand. Die Playstation Portal ist für Remote Play mit der PS5 die beste Möglichkeit, nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Auch wenn das mit dem Steam Deck oder dem G Cloud von Logitec auch geht. Bei beiden ist der Bildschirm schlechter und kleiner. Bei beiden muss man Kompromisse bei der Steuerung eingehen. Was man sagen muss: Es ist ein Gutes WLAN erforderlich! Hier sollte man vorab überlegen, wo man gerne spielen möchte und dort das WLAN z.B. per App testen. Ich habe mit der FritzWLAN App getestet. Obwohl ich bisher nur 2,4 Ghz Repeater habe, funktionierte das Streaming sehr gut. Wenn man mit dem Gerät den Raum wechselt, passiert es, dass das Gerät in stottern kommt. Wenn an dem neuen Ort das WLAN gut ist, braucht es ein paar minuten, bis es wieder läuft. Außerdem kann es je nach WLAN Qualität dazu kommen, dass Tonaussetzer kommen, wenn jemand anders das gleiche Netz nutzt und Videos schaut. Vielleicht hilft es hier beim Repeater auf 5Ghz aufzurüsten. Was ich mag: + Das Gerät liegt perfekt in der Hand und ist wirklich leicht. Viele Tester bestätigen, dass die PS Portal das bequemste mobile Gamingdevice auf dem Markt ist. (es sei denn, man hat sehr kleine Hände) + Alle Dualsense-Features sind da! Haptisches Feedback und Adaptive Trigger empfinde ich bei PS5 Spielen als große Bereicherung. + Der Bildschirm ist super! Wenn die Wlan-Stärke gut ist, gibt es fullHD/60Hz, So gut sah "Handheld"-Spielen noch nie aus. Ich behaupte, dass auf diesem Display eine höhere Auflösung nicht signifikant wäre. Dazu kommt, dass für 4k-Gamestreaming eine wesentlich höhere Badbreite erforderlich wäre. Gleiches gilt für 120 Hz. Wer bei dem Sreen von Flauen Farben spricht, schaut wahrscheinlich auf seinem TV mit zu viel Sättigung. Die Farben sind exzellent. + Wenn man den Bildschirm mit 50% Leuchtkraft betreibt, hält der Akku bestimmt 6 Stunden. Das reicht voll aus, wenn man nicht in sehr heller Umgebung spielt. Viele Tester haben mit 100% Leuchtkraft getestet und sind auf ca. 4 Stunden gekommen. Ich hatte gute 2 Stunden gespielt und einen von 3 Akkubalken verloren. Was mir egal ist: 0 Man kann nicht über Cloud Game Services spielen, nicht mal über den von Sony. Weil ich nur das Essential Abo habe und genug Spiele auf der PS5 interessiert mich das nicht. 0 Wenn man ein Disk-Spiel spielen möchte, muss natürlich die Disk rein ;-) 0 es gibt sicherlich einen Input-Lag. Bei mir lag dieser jedoch in einem akzeptablen Bereich. Da mein Beamer auch ein Lag von um die 60ms hat, bin ich das auch gewohnt. Trotzdem konnte ich selbst die Crash Bandikoot-Insane Trilogie gut spielen, hier ist es oft entscheidend, im richtigen Moment zu springen. Auch Rennspiele oder Callisto-Protokoll gingen sehr gut. Langsame Spiele sowieso. 0 Weiterhin kommt es vor, dass Ton und Bild nicht syncron sind. Das ist mir jedoch nur in Menüs oder mal in einer Zwischensequenz aufgefallen. Im Spiel hab ich es nicht bemerkt. 0 man kann die PS5 nicht aus dem Standby holen, sie muss im Ruhemodus sein. Da ich sowieso in den Keller muss und die Steckerleiste fürs Kino anschalten, drücke ich einmal auf die PS5 und schalte sie ein. Was ich nicht mag: - man kann bisher keine Medien, wie Prime Video oder auch nur Youtube widergeben. Das ist schade. Wenn ich mal krank bin, wäre es nett, auch auf dem Tolen Screen der PS Portal gucken zu können. Ich hoffe, dass das vielleicht noch kommt. - Der Bildschirm spiegelt wirklich stark. Ich habe eine matte Schutzfolie bestellt und hoffe, dass diese nicht die Schärfe beeinflusst. Dann wäre dieser Punkt beseitigt. Update: Eine matte Schutzfolie führt zu einem Moire-Effekt, was das Bild matschig erscheinen lässt. Daher lebe ich mit den Spiegelungen. Ist bei jedem Handy ja auch so. - es wird kein Blutooth unterstützt. Das ist wirklich schade, denn... - der Sound ist wirklich nicht gut, das kann Sony besser. Die Soundausgabeschlitze hätten zum Spieler gerichtet werden können. Allein das hätte was gebracht. So bleibt momentan nur, einen Kopfhörer über 3,5mm Klinke anzuschlißen. Dabei sitzt der Anschluss hierfür schön geschützt hinter dem Bildschirm. Die kommenden Headsets von Sony kosten zum teil so viel, wie die Portal! Da Bluetooth das WLAN Stören kann, könnte ich mir vorstellen, dass es aus diesem Grund weggelassen wurde. Bei Tests mit der Remoteplay App konnte ich reproduzierbar mehr Störungen ausmachen, wenn das BT des Handys an war. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Gerät. Auch der Preis ist in Ordnung. Wenn man bedenkt, dass man teils über 100€ für den Backbone-Kontrolleraufsatz bezahlen muss und dafür mit eingeschränkter Steuerun und dem kleinen Smartphonebildschirm leben muss. Man muss außerdem bedenken, dass der Smartphonebildschirm zusätzlich rechts und links schwarze Ränder hat, somit noch kleiner ist. Ich habe mir weitere 5Ghz-fähige MeshRepeater bestellt und hoffe, dass das Erlebnis noch mals besser wird.
