I was over the moon with this keyboard out of the box - tremendous price, and almost exactly what I want from a mechanical keyboard - tactile and not a ton of wasted work on RGB lighting or over-optimization for gaming. I was pretty disappointed when it started misbehaving, but I blamed it on a flaky USB hub. Until it stopped working all together. So why am I still giving five stars? Although it took almost two months of back and forth with customer service, Keychron did honor their warranty and replace the device (after I submitted multiple 2 minute plus troubleshooting videos, showing the failure pattern and that the original keyboard did not work). The new keyboard looks and feels just as good as the original - if it turns out to be a touch more reliable I'll update this in a couple of months, as well. Edit: three months later and solid as a rock. So - great build quality + great customer service - buy from Keychron! Bonus - since the original keyboard failed, I've switched over to a Mac as my primary device, and I actually love the cross compatibility mode even more - having Mac and Windows key change outs - even if it doesn't change the functional mapping at all - is a really nice touch.

It was a great keyboard. Nice sound, nice feel, worked smoothly. Then, out of nowhere, there was lag when typing. It started with the letter C and then it progressed until the keyboard became unusable. Double spaces, missing letters, double letters. I tried updating firmware, resetting the keyboard, different USB ports, different computers, even different OS and there was still this lag that became worse and worse over time. I can't find any other solutions to get this fixed, so I guess I'm back to my old $20 Logi that has been working for years.

I've been using a Noppoo Choc Mini with Gateron Brown switches for years, and I needed to switch to a keyboard with a full numpad. I was looking for a keyboard with the following: - Full size layout - Tactile/non-clicky mechanical switches (usually Brown) - Double-shot PBT keycaps This fit the bill, and for a very reasonable price. Overall thoughts on some features: The backlighting is nice. It's more for effect since the keys aren't transparent, but I like it. You can do a lot of the same lighting effects I've seen on gaming keyboards. The keyboard has a plastic case (some enthusiasts like metal cases specifically), but I don't mind at all. It's a nice black texture that simulates brushed aluminum, and fingerprints don't show on it. The construction is sturdy and doesn't have much flex. Typing also has a really satisfying "clunk" to it. The keys themselves are very smooth. Similar in class to Gatreon Brown switches in my opinion. No complaints. The caps themselves are also fine, I'm not a huge fan of the font style, but I don't mind it. Overall, for the price, an easy 5 stars.

This is the brown switch model. The build quality is great, and this thing feels like it will last for decades. I'm not a fan of the side-by-side labels on the number and punctuation keycaps, but I'll learn. I'd also make the nubs on the F and J keys a tiny bit bigger for instant recognition when I'm not at the perfect angle. One more niggle is probably just a incorrect assumption on my part. I expected more of a distinct tactile feel at the instant the key connects. The feel of the key bottoming out is good, but the moment above that when the connection happens isn't noticeable. The sound is much louder than my old keyboard, but I hear that the red switches are even louder. How much you like is completely a matter of taste, I suppose. It's a nice sound to me, as long as I'm not worried about disturbing others. In spite of what sounds like a lot of complaints I am going to be very happy with this keyboard. It's a big upgrade on the generic one that came with my machine.

For years I've been using a cheap Cooler Master keyboard for my computer at work, but it was worn to the point that the keys were sticking, and half the characters had been worn off the caps, so this week I decided it was time for an upgrade. I'm not a fan of RGB or extraneous controls or over the top designs, so I appreciate that this keyboard is pretty utilitarian in that regard. The backlight is a nice accent without being garish and it matches the light on my mouse. It would be nice if the housing was made of metal, but the ABS it's made of is fairly substantial. This is my first keyboard with tactile switches and for my tastes it feels *really* good to type on. It's nice and punchy, but the sound is subdued enough that nobody in my office has tried to smash it over my head yet. Unfortunately, I've run into similar issues that other reviews here have mentioned, namely that at least one of the keys has had responsiveness issues right out of the box. Specifically, the "U" key on my keyboard only registers a press about half the time. I type fairly fast, too, so it's a persistent annoyance having to back up and correct it. It's actually been getting worse and worse as I type this review. It took me four tries just to type that last "up". Three tries for that one. If I unplug the cable it seems to fix it for a little while, but I might just be gaslighting myself. I've tried swapping cables, ports, and doing a factory reset, but nothing has yielded a permanent fix. I'm going to contact Keychron before I give up and return it to Amazon because otherwise I really like this thing.

Keyboard looks and feels great. Only problem is about a week after having it multiple keys started acting up. My 4, L and spacebar would randomly not register or register multiple clicks. It was very buggy. I sent an email to the customer service team and there solution was to send me a new PCB board. It took a month of back and forth communication to finally get the PCB board and worst of all is I had to completely take apart the keyboard (which is not meant to be taken apart) and it cause the tabs to break so the shell is not all the way sealed. It is working now but I feel like it would have been a lot easier for them to just send me a new keyboard and then I send them the broken one and they fix it themselves. Bad customer service, Buggy product on arrival, overall frustrating experience.

Solid mechanical keyboard that comes built with the QWERTY keyboard, but the default windows keys (like the WIN key and ALT) aren't on by default; you have to pop the others out and put them on. The lights are a nice touch, and someone more creative than me can make them dance wonderfully. It sets up easily, is properly responsive, and doesn't cause these lightly arthritic hands any issues.

I'll preface this with the caveat that my three star review is due in part to ignorance... This is my first "gaming" style keyboard. I was very impressed with the build quality, feel, and style. My first ignorance came down to choosing switches. I did a lot of AI assisted help in deciding which switches would be closest to my 18 year old Dell keyboard that I had grown to love. I settled on Brown switches, and they do feel amazing to me. The big problem with them is that, while they have a 4mm throw, they register the keystroke at only 2mm. Couple that with the light-ish spring in them (which contributes to the feel, for me) the result is a lot of extra letters interjected into my words. Maybe I just have sloppy fingers and you'd be fine. This comes to my second ignorant mistake. The use of the term "hot swappable". To my mind it means you can switch components with it powered on, like in all the rest of the computing world. Apparently when it comes to keyboards, it means you can swap switches without desoldering them from the board. So when the description said the regular C2 was "hot swappable" and the C2 Pro was not, I assumed that you could change switches on the C2 while it was plugged in (not sure why you'd want to do that though, lol) and that the C2 Pro could be swapped, but you had to unplug it first. I guess I thought all keyboards of this type had replaceable switches. Again, my ignorance at play here (but it does seem a silly divergence of the computing term.) So now I am stuck witha a $60 keygboard that I can not use. Maybe I could use it if I were to learn to be supera precise with my fingers but I thiun;k I am too old to be elarning new tricks. I can't imagine how anyone would game with such a sensitive keyboased. Anywaty, that is amy review. Thank you for your timer :)
