Prell Shampoo, Classic Clean 13.50 oz

I'd heard about Prell shampoo in the States and on-line, but I was sceptical; could it really cut out 'old dye', remove all residual products, AND leave hair in good condition? Hmmmm. However, after several months of sheer frustration with my naturally very curly/'frizzy', coloured, dry hair, I decided to try it. I looked everywhere in the UK to buy it but I could only find it on Amazon, from the US. And it answered my prayers - it is truly amazing! Not only is my hair squeaky clean, but the residual dye is fading (apparently 'naturally': it does not look orange, as suggested in some other reviews), AND it didn't need ANY conditioner. Unbelievable!(Only natural curly-heads will understand just how amazing that is!) I don't care that the postage is MORE than the product cost - it's worth it for the feeling of clean and healthy, natural looking, soft and untangled, hair. I've already ordered several more bottles to take with me on a seriously extended visit to India. (I'll leave out clothes in my luggage to make room for this; truly - it's worth every penny!) A revelation for me.

As someone with greasy hair that has to wash everyday, this has been great, it’s even better than T Gel Shampoo. I can go at least 2/3 days when using this shampoo (If Must), I don’t use it everyday as it can be extremely drying but using it once a week is amazing

I was recommended this shampoo as my hair had been tinted too dark. It managed to lighten thehair just enough for me to notice. Very pleased indeed.

I purchased this after a disastrous trip to the hairdresser when far too much black dye was applied to my hair. I'd tried all the usual dye removing strategies including a certain well-known dandruff shampoo. Nothing would shift it & I was getting desperate. Then I heard about Prell. I was in a real hurry to sort out my hair so paid the considerable postage to get the stuff rushed over from the states. (It doesn't seem to be available in Britain. ) It was worth it. The first time I used it the suds were brown with dye and my hair immediately looked better. Two more washes were all that was needed to restore my hair to a natural looking shade.A word of caution if you're planning to get some. It's very strong and takes a lot of the natural oils out of the hair so it's best if followed up with a really good conditioner.

Since buying this product in the USA in 1995 and visiting the USA annually since 2003, this has been in my bathroom ever since then. Having initially suffered from oily hair from teenage years and struggling for something to counteract this, only Prell managed the task. Its water based formula is perfect for all hair types, now has a conditioner to supplement it if required and actually does what it says on the bottle. Comes highly recommended - give it a try. Excellent value.

I dont know if its the product i received or its all like that but i had no problems with my scalp until i started using it , my scalp started getting really itchy everytime i use it and i get breakouts all over my head

I swear, every shampoo manufacturer known to mankind has been thinning its formulation down to the wateriest version they can get people to still buy. So frustrating. The thing is, a thick, concentrated shampoo is so much more effective at cleaning your hair, and such a much better value for the customer. But in the era of never-ending corporate greed, they want you to buy more, More... MORE. So, the shampoo manufacturers have nearly all made their products thinner to force you use more, and buy more product more often. Shameless. But, not all of them.I made it my mission to find a shampoo that is thick, effective, and affordable. It took months of testing, but in the end I rediscovered Prell, and what a relief that was. Prell was around in the 80s when I was a kid, but I never thought much about it until recently. After trying dozens of shampoos over the last half-a-year, when I opened the container of Prell for the first time in decades, I immediately knew my search was finally over. What a relief!Prell is so well formulated. The viscosity of this shampoo is the thickest I have found on the market today (February 2026). I can use the smallest dot in my hand and my hair gets perfectly clean so quickly and easily. I can put slightly more on my bath brush and scrub my entire body thoroughly and effectively. This product is so amazing. It is refreshing to find a manufacturer that is still committed to making the best product they can, and not the most money they can. Bravo, shampoo people!
