Petite
This is much smaller than my larger tactical bag by UTG, but that is the reason I bought the small bag. Everything I need for the day at my client's fits neatly in the bag. When I run errands this bag is perfect and has everything I need just in case I need it. Contents are neatly organized and I have it with me wherever I go. I can fit a 10-oz wide-mouth Thermos in the main compartment if I bring lunch with me. Most of the time I just carry my Naked smoothie or bottle of water in the main compartment. Medications, perfume, lipgloss, iPod and phone chargers fit in the main compartment. Small notebook and my front pocket wallet fit well in the front gusseted zipper pouch. My small halogen flashlight fits in one of the side pockets along with my stylus for my iPod. The other side pocket houses my highlighters, Dr Grip pen, and gel writer pen. I don't use the leg strap and the attachment for the strap does not bother my leg without the leg strap use. Mostly worn around my waist with no problems with unbalanced weight distribution. Although I ordered a padded shoulder strap attachment, this bag doesn't sit well on my shoulder or cross-body. Back zippered section carries mail or other documents without getting wrinkled or crumpled, my hunting knife, and could actually hold my .38 Smith & Wesson 5-shot pistol if I got the holster for this bag. Front zipper pocket on the flap carries my flash drives. Main compartment is protected with the storm collar keeps everything dry. Sturdy material has weathered the rain, snow and my dog's running over it many times thinking it's a toy. Great buy. I don't see myself replacing this well-made bag. Buy yours here it's cheaper than on Maxpedition's site. Foliage green is a great color too. Goes with anything, but then I don't care about fashion anyway. Update: 4-4-12 I finally hit some bad weather while walking and tested this bag. The storm collar kept all the contents in the main compartment DRY. The side pockets had only a small flashlight and pens and pencils, so nothing was ruined there. As small as this bag is, I'm able to stuff it and still found areas in the side pockets to clip my iPod stylus onto and my other pens. I just noticed the extensions at the bottom of the side flaps that can hold more things clipped to it. Amazing little bag. Update: 12-6-14 I still use this bag. No signs of wear and tear at all. Synthetics are like that, but the quality of this bag speaks volumes. I use it mostly when I walk my miniature pinscher (I attach her leash to it) and pack my mini survival kit in the main compartment; keys in the front zippered compartment; poop bags in the side pouches. I usually walk through 3 - 4 cities but drink water before I head out, so I don't pack a water bottle anymore when I use this. Anyone on the fence, this was a great buy and it LASTS.

Awesome
I purchased this for my sister to take on all day hikes as part of rebuilding her gear set up after her back surgery--she wanted to redistribute her gear about her body so there would be way less weight on her actual back. After a lot of research, I chose the Maxpedition Thermite to start with. She loves it. She took it with us out to Silver Falls and we ended up hiking over thirteen miles in two day trips, with 1000 foot ascent/descent on the back half of the trails, through muddy switchbacks and climbing over storm downed trees. It didn't 'stick out' from her body too far--no hang ups on trail foliage--and yet, she was able to carry her basic BOB gear comfortably. And, I admit, she looked dang cool while doing it. She loved it so much that she just picked up a second thermite for the other leg. For her birthday this year, I just ordered her the Maxpedition Extreme Rollypoly Backpack--which will give her an 'ultra light' bag that can actually take real world use. When her back strength boosts up, I'll probably get her the Pygmy, but until then, this will give her the ability to carry her rolled up jacket, silnylon tarp with cords and stakes, and other such larger items (like Mountain House food and a small steel cookpot)--as her other gear will be neatly in the two Thermites. If her lower back does awesome, then possibly a Proteus. By keeping all the gear to minimum levels and redistributing them about her body, she will be able to have a high quality solid use BOB--and actually be able to carry it comfortably and safely. I liked the Thermite so much that I'll be adding one (most likely two) to my set up, also. And will be giving one to start my other family members gear set ups this year at their birthdays. None of us are twenty somethings, so shifting our gear about for an easier load out is serious. Not that the Hercules and Xenas of the world wouldn't benefit in the long run over easing the weight off their spines. And with Maxpedition's expanding colors, I'll be able to color coordinate each person's set up for easy eyeball recognition. This baby is an amazing buy--it looks awesome, it is built like a tank, and it makes carrying gear--whether for hikes, BOB or EDC--far more comfortable than just one large pack or bag. And because it is easily adjustable and can be worn on either leg, it fits a wide variety of people. Heartily recommend adding the Maxpedition Thermite to your set up.

Lovin it
Nice big bag, carries my knife, flashlight, all of my gear, cellphone, keys, notepad, pens. Cinches down, leg strap keeps the thing from bouncing around when you need to run or jump. Not easy to roll over or onto, since it does stick out, and especially when you've got consumer electronics in it, but it's you're probably not supposed to roll your body weight onto your PDA or iPhone. I'm a 32 waist, so I was a little slim for the waist strap, but add a pair of D-rings, and I was able to cinch it down to my waist size. I'm using it for school in this one setting where I'm supposed to carry all of my gear and I'm not allowed to bring a backpack, since there's no where to set it down. Because of the uniform requirements, we don't have any pockets and we're only allowed to carry whatever we can around our waists on fanny packs. I found the Wal-mart packs lacking, so after some research I found the Thermite pack and wasn't disappointed. The side straps for magazines are good for a folding knife and a flashlight, and are an easy grab and pull with the leg strap on (you can keep your eyes up and looking while you grab for your light and knife). Teflon-coated, main pouch has added rain protection, and it's also great for carrying spare bike tools/inner tubes when I'm the bike or when family is borrowing the car. Price is a little steep but it's worth the quality of construction. This bag will probably outlast the regular bags, so long as it isn't purposely beat up. Will buy again.

I bought this before a 1.5 month cross Canada trip and I loved it. I wore it on hikes, to amusement parks, to the Calgary stampede, it was amazing. It holds so much stuff, it’s perfect for holding a portable charger and feels secure to pickpockets because of its clips, the location of the pouch, and the sturdy fabric. It’s expensive but 100% worth it. It’s a great alternative to a purse or bag.

Damaged my 1st pouch going down the luge. Couldn't find any other alternative just as ideal and well constructed. After several years, finally got around to order a new 1. They dont have it in Singapore shops anymore.
