Works well and seems to be decently made. It's light, so it's easy to move it around, while needing only two USB Connectors makes it simple to use, and the tray is properly ejected when the button is pushed. Overall, it works as intended.

Okay this is a great product the cable length may be short but it works very well, it needs to be connected to a computer for it to open (front button) and if you get software like disk burn (open source) it is easy to burn any files to the disk. It needs no set up and connects seamlessly to windows file systems, ejection works even with disks with relatively thick stickers on the top! Great product.

Good buy especially for the price .Works pretty well and connects quickly . Very easy to set up just plug and play. Compact and portables you can carry it where ever in your bag. In case you are hoping to use this on a tv it wont work and it was made for computer with driver software.

I PURCHASED THIS ANTIKA USB OPTICAL DRIVE BECAUSE IT OFFERS EVERYTHING THAT I NEED AND COMES SUPPLIED WITH ALL RELEVANT CABLES, INCLUDING ONE THAT YOU CAN PLUG INTO A SUITABLE MAINS ADAPTER (NOT SUPPLIED) TO PROVIDE EXTRA POWER, ONLY REQUIRED IF YOUR LAPTOP CANNOT PROVIDE ENOUGH POWER BY JUST USING THE USB CABLE SUPPLIED. I LIKE THE FACT THAT ONE CABLE IS A USB C CONNECTION, WHICH I USE. NO ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR THIS DRIVE TO WORK. IT WAS SET UP VERY QUICKLY AND FUNCTIONS PERFECTLY, TIU CAN USE BOTH DVD DISCS AND CD ROMS. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY AND IT LOOKS GREAT TOO! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS DRIVE.

This is possibly the most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever owned. When the drive actually decides to work, it's fine - I mean, it's a DVD player, pretty simple right? Well, half of the time my Mac doesn't recognize the drive, even when using the additional external power source. The main connector cable has both USB 2.0 and USB C connectors. I have tried both (Mac has only USB C inputs so I used an adaptor to trial the old USB connector). Both methods of connection are unreliable. It's such a shame that it only works sometimes. Would expect such a rubbish piece of kit to be a lot cheaper. UPDATE: changed review to one star only a few days after writing the initial review because now the drive won't work at all. It was making strange noises and caused my Mac to restart three times before stopping working altogether.

Very useful for reading CDs and DVDs, burnt or original. It can be powered & connected via USB-C or it has a USB-A connector that can be used. Comes with USB-A to power connecction if required which is handy. The product works well, it is fast, reasonably quiet, and I had no problem using it on my Mac without requiring any drivers. Once a disc is put in it I can see it as available. Very easy to use, fast at reading, ejects when you press the button or eject it from the OS, it is lightweight, and very compatible.

I have been looking for an external Drive for my MacBook for ages, this Antika Drive is the best ever. Works perfectly straight from the box. Highly recommended.

​Mon avis après test complet : ​J'ai pris ce lecteur/graveur externe Antika pour pouvoir lire et graver des disques facilement sur mes ordinateurs récents qui n'ont plus de lecteur interne. Après test, le résultat est excellent : c'est un produit d'une efficacité redoutable ! ​Ce que j'ai particulièrement apprécié : ​Connexion instantanée (Plug & Play) : On le branche et ça fonctionne immédiatement. Aucun pilote ou logiciel bizarre à installer, le système (Windows ou Mac) le détecte en 2 secondes chrono. ​Le câble 2-en-1 intégré : C'est une excellente idée de conception ! Le câble possède à la fois une prise USB 3.0 (bleue) et une prise USB-C. Pas besoin de chercher un adaptateur, il s'adapte à tous les ordinateurs. ​Le rangement sous le boîtier : Comme on le voit sur mes photos, le câble se clipse directement sous le lecteur dans un emplacement dédié. C'est parfait pour le transporter sans risquer d'abîmer le fil ou de le perdre. ​Silencieux et rapide : La vitesse de transfert en USB 3.0 est impeccable pour la gravure ou la lecture de films/données, et l'appareil reste très discret à l'utilisation (pas de vibrations excessives). ​Mon petit conseil de testeur : Pour obtenir les meilleures performances et une alimentation stable, connectez-le de préférence sur un port USB 3.0 natif (souvent repérable par sa couleur bleue à l'intérieur). ​En résumé : Un excellent rapport qualité-prix pour un appareil compact, robuste et super bien pensé. Denediğim kadarıyla hem Windows 11'de hem de Linux Fedora sistemimde sorunsuz çalıştı ve çok memnun kaldım. Mac cihazım yok ancak Linux'ta çalıştıysa muhtemelen Mac'te de sorunsuz çalışır. Cihaz sağlam ve kaliteli görünüyor.
