Indecent Proposal

First, I just want to give my quick opinion on the actual movie. Then I will comment on the actual Blu-ray that I purchased. As for the movie I felt the acting performances of Robert Redford, Demi Moore, and Woody Harrelson were very good in pretty much every scene. They kept my attention throughout the movie as I anticipated how it would end. I think everyone knew from the beginning, that someone was going to get hurt big-time when it was over. Considerung the plot and script, I still felt it was entertaining, bitter-sweet, and provocative all at the same time. The Blu-ray itself is probably the best version you can get in regards to the video and audio quality. I don't think it will ever be released again so if you're a fan of this movie this is probably the definitive version to own. For a movie that is considered to be in the drama category I felt the video was excellent. For the ladies Robert Redford couldn't look any better and for the gentleman Demi Moore is absolutely gorgeous. The scenery looks great throughout the movie and the close-ups of the cast are really really good. As for the audio on the disc I had no trouble hearing the background music, noise and the dialogue is easily understood throughout the entire film. It's not going to blow up your speakers but it's not meant to. I highly recommended this movie for purchase on Blu-ray. If you're a fan of any or all the actors this is a good movie to pick up at a great price!

Before you watch this as yourself.. Do you really wanna watch this? ...or do you just wanna ask your partner if they would pimp you out for a million dollars? Lol! It is a great film, it's easy to get emotional invested and start forming opinions. One of my favorite endings in a film.

Woody Harrelson is gorgeous. I have no idea why they even fight. You made a million dollars. What is the problem?

Indecent Proposal is a 1993 drama starring Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson, and Robert Redford. Moore and Harrelson were probably at the height of their respective careers, Moore coming off her 80s "brat pack" popularity and Harrelson from his run on Cheers. Redford was definitely on the other side of the height of his career but still had the leading man gravitas. Moore and Harrelson play David and Diana Murphy, a young couple in financial trouble because of the recession. Of course, they decide the best way to remedy this is to use the last of their savings to go to Vegas to win the money. Per the Vegas stereotype, they win big initially, and instead of learning when to stop, they lose all their money. Enter Redford, a billionaire named John Gage who spots Diana looking at dresses. He offers the couple a million dollars to spend one night with Diana. That is really all the setup that is needed. The story is pretty predictable, but it plays out well. For those who get the blu-ray, the A/V quality is good, but the movie did not get an extensive restoration by any means. Even so, it was shot very well initially, and that definitely comes through. The only extra is a commentary track on the movie by the director, Adrian Lyne. It is an okay commentary, but not anything spectacular. Overall, the movie is good, but not great. It is a pretty standard love-triangle story, and it was somewhat famous for being one of the first (if not the first) movies in which Demi Moore (who to this day is in phenomenal shape) did any nudity. It amounted to a quick topless shot at the beginning of the movie, then she was in lingerie in a couple of scenes. The acting is very good and probably saved what was pretty mediocre writing in parts of the movie. It is not what I would call a must-see movie, but it is worth checking out. I am not sure if the movie is available on any of the streaming services for free or not, so if you want it, the disc is probably the best way to get it even if there are not a ton of extras.

Adrian Lyne once again demonstrates his remarkable skill for drawing out layered, emotionally resonant performances from his cast. What could have easily slipped into cliché instead becomes an absorbing exploration of desire, insecurity, and the complexities of human relationships. One of the most striking revelations in this film is Woody Harrelson’s performance. Prior to this, I often found myself unsure about the extent of his range as an actor. But this movie changed that completely. Harrelson delivers a nuanced, grounded portrayal that captures both vulnerability and moral conflict. His work here demonstrates a depth that I wasn’t expecting, and it’s the role that made me recognize—not just appreciate—his genuine talent. The chemistry among the cast is another standout element. Lyne has a gift for creating an atmosphere where emotions feel raw and interactions feel authentic. The dynamic between Harrelson and the other leads is particularly compelling; their connection anchors the film and makes even the more dramatic narrative turns feel believable. Every glance and moment of hesitation contributes to a tension that keeps the story alive from start to finish. In the end, what could have been a shallow or contrived drama becomes something far more engaging thanks to the strength of the performances and Lyne’s careful direction. The film succeeds not because of its premise, but because the actors breathe truth into every scene.

RIP Robert Redford, he’s a classic in this one is an oldie but goodie! He was a hell of a actor and amazing director so sad he has passed 🥺😢

Vale muchísimo la pena este Transfer en 4k. Lamentablemente con pobreza en extras y sin subtítulos. Una pena.
