Works well
I had low expectations. Casing and graphics on the receiver are a bit cheap and nasty but the outdoor unit is well made and weatherproof. The red sensor light gives the cat feedback that a signal has been sent, so wait at the door for your slave to open up - it only took a couple of days for mine to to get the idea, and she's no genius. Range is good, I take the alert unit to my upstairs office. Very bright alert lights in disco mode. Audio rarely used as this unit will trigger with wrens during the day and rodents at night - or bright direct sunlight. My only gripe is the sensor bracket is curved so can't stand on its own - see bodge job frame in photo. Batteries have not been replaced since installed. An unexpected recommend!

Does what it's supposed to do
Our 3-year old rescue cat is very much an outdoor girl, but we don't have nor want a cat flap. With the nights getting colder we were not keen to leave a door or window open so she could come and go as she pleased, and she had also recently become a mousing ace... This "doorbell" seemed like a viable solution, so we bought one two months ago and it has worked well and done the job as hoped. We chose the Pink Panther theme tune from the available audio alerts. The flashing lights accompanying the alarm are bright and difficult to miss, and both the sound and lights last 5-10 seconds after activation. The receiver is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket if it is necessary to move about the house and one is concerned about missing the alarm if it is left in another room. The range seems pretty good (at least 25m, with several walls/doors/sizeable objects between the receiver and the sensor) and the sensor appears to be rain-resistant. Obviously it can't discriminate between objects moving in front of the sensor so there have been one or two false alarms, e.g., when a strong wind was blowing fallen leaves across the driveway. However, that is a minor quibble and overall this has been a very good and useful purchase, which I would certainly recommend. Thank you.

Brilliant, works a treat
Brilliant, my partner works from home and had to keep getting up to see if the cat was waiting to come in at the patio door, now she has the 'bell' unit on her desk and whenever she hears it she knows the cat is waiting by the door (although sometimes he walks away as though he was checking someone is still there!) As I did not want to drill into the wall I mounted the sensor on a piece of wood and it sits on the ground next to the door, I angled it to the wall slightly so that it would only 'sense' the cat when he was standing at the door rather than just near to it. Experienced no issues with the wireless signal. Very very pleased with the unit. Update Aug 2017: PR Unit stopped working, tried new batt. flashes when turned on but dead after that. Ordering another as when it works it is brilliant (going to put sealant around all case joins of new one incase it failed to water getting in!)

Great product
Our third one of these purchased for our fur baby’s reentering the house. Last well over a year and well worth the money. If we forget to bring the sensor in after puss has returned at night and another cat or fox pays a visit to the patio setting the alarm off, our puss knows the Pink Pantha alarm and will rush over to the patio doors. Makes us smile as it’s as if he’s rushing to see his friends at the door.

It works.
So far so good but only had it a couple of days. The range from outdoor monitor to base unit is good even though we have an old house with thick walls. Works well. We have used a plastic plant holder to protect the external monitor cited under the patio doors (screwed in some holes and attached with zip ties) We can turn the thing around, disabling it, so do not get blasted with the Pink Panther when we are here on weekends. Hoping it will be invaluable when WFH and can here it from the lap top!.

Amazing
Absolutely amazing. I never write reviews. Ive been leaving my door open for my cat. We have been freezing. Now she is learning to sit and wait. The sensor and a red flashing light. It's like she knows we are coming to let her in. We love the themes tunes. My son has it set on the pink panther. Also the flashing light is a good idea in case you don't want the sound. He games with a head set on. So he can still see she needs letting in. Perfect idea. Not needing a cat flap!

Love this cat doorbell until it stops working
I have purchased this item three times (two homes and one replacement). I love the design, the sounds selection and the flashing only option. The range is great. the receiver works anywhere in the house even at the opposite of the receptor. However, they do not like heavy rain. This is the second device out of three that lets me down after heavy rainfall and this last one wasn't even 3 months old.
