What's the cd disk used for?

I have no idea. Items manufactured in China often include a windows disk of some software, usually general utilities. I always scan them and once I found malware on one. I put the one that came with my scanner somewhere on my desk and forgot about it. I used a program called car scanner on my android and it does quite well, thank you.

All that is a well known problem, thanks to Apple only way to make this iphone/ipad to work with bluetooth devices properly is to jailbreak your device to remove all those artificial limitations. Then you will be able to use elm327 odb2 reader over bluetooth. In non-jailbroken mode it will not pair. So short answer is you cannot pair it with IOS devices at all, you must use an Android device.

will This show transmission temp on 2018 tacoma?

If you really want to monitor yer trans temp, yer best bet is to install an aftermarket sensor in the return line and mount a gauge on the dash or A pillar. You will need to attach a ground wire to the sensor from the frame or other ground point. ;)
