At this point I have 20+ Sonos products throughout my home, and every time they release something new, I wonder if it’ll actually move the needle. This one absolutely does. The sound quality is a noticeable step up from previous models in this size. The stereo separation is wider, the bass is fuller without being muddy, and vocals come through incredibly clean. It easily fills a room, and pairing two of them takes things to another level. Setup, as always with Sonos, is seamless. It integrated into my existing system in minutes, and Trueplay tuning helped dial everything in perfectly for the space. I also appreciate the updated controls- more intuitive and responsive than older models. One of the biggest advantages of Sonos is how everything just works together, and the Era 100 fits right into that ecosystem. Sonos is quite expensive, but you're buying not only high-quality audio devices but also the flexibility of being wireless for sound and the interconnectedness of all the Sonos devices. The Sonos app recognizes all of your various devices and makes it easy for them to work together. You can assign devices to specific rooms or, if you want, set up a home audio network where music is played everywhere. The Sonos app also integrates access to Apple Music, Amazon Music, or just the Sonos music that they offer. For a home theater, starting with a Sonos soundbar opens the door for adding other Sonos speakers and a Sonos subwoofer. The sound bar, while using the Sonos application on your smartphone, will recognize other speakers and a subwoofer in the room. You also can configure the speakers to work separately, or they can be part of a surround sound system tied to the Sonos sound bar. Ok, here i am to give my honest review of my Sonos Era 100. I have good and bad points to make with this, but i knew it was not perfect before i purchased it. I bought this anyway for the sound quality and not really the extra voice features since i already have the Alexa i use. Just do not expect this to operate like the Alexa because it does not. At least not for me. And what i do not like about the Sonos is that for the voice you have to say, "HEY SONOS." and you cannot just say Sonos, you have to use both words. Alexa i can use just one wake word to use it and even change it, with the Sonos you cannot. Even though i got the Alexa app to work with the Sonos which i wanted to try anyway, it was a major disappointment, you hear the Alexa voice, but it would not operate any of my lights with Sonos. Not a major issue anyway since i already have it working with 2 Alexa units already. But if you are buying this for the Alexa feature, its a disappointment. Now for the sound. I heard so many good reviews about the audio quality so i had to give this a shot. The speaker was actually smaller than expected, but do not let that fool you. The sound was excellent quality and the music sounds very separated with the vocal and music which sounds great, and much louder too. I am using the Sonos speaker for my computer and basically music. I am now going to give you another honest review when comparing this to the Newer Echo devices. Buy the echo devices if you are wanting it for the home lights and tv use, but do not expect the audio quality like the Sonos has. Both the Echo and Sonos have good points, this is why i have both. Alexa for my lights and news and weather, however, if its audio you are looking for, i would spend the extra money for the Sonos and skip the Echo devices. Plus i do like the small size that does make it easy for Sonos to be placed just about anywhere. The bottom line with my review, if you want audio quality, then Sonos is for you. If you want to voice activate lights then the Echo's are better. But i have no regrets at all about buying this Sonos speaker.

I am obsessed with Sonos and love the new era 100 speaker. It’s more affordable and has great sound alone and when paired for surround sound. Would for sure recommend!!!

These speakers are garbage unless all you want to do is feed them with music from a phone. They can also be used as surround speakers for their soundbar. A single speaker can be used as mono output from a bluetooth device, but connecting it every time is a nuisance. Sonos (stupidly) explicitly refuses to allow setting these up as a stereo pair and then feed them from a bluetooth source. The technology could do this but they don't permit it. In fact if there's a theme with Sonos, it's that the technology could do so much, but Sonos disallows 90 % of everything one would want to do. I don't play music from my phone, I use a desktop. Or I want output from my TV. After buying these I have learned the hard way that everything I want to do is impossible. The only path would be to go through an analog setup but that introduces a world of problems including low fidelity, hum, etc. etc. and my TV only outputs bluetooth or optical digital. If you want to play music from your phone perhaps you won't mind. In addition to all the other problems, the setup process is way too controlling. Precise location sharing is required both to set up and use these speakers. My attempt to play sound even if I do want to use my phone doesn't work if I am only a short distance away in my house. There isn't space to go into all the mind-numbing unfortunate restrictions here but suffice it to say that Sonos ruined what could be a great product with their over-control and short-sightedness.

Speaker has great sound. Nice bass, super crisp. Easy to connect to and install Alexa. The white looks great too. Highly recommend. I’ll probably buy another one.
