It does well at providing a secure, stable workspace when you prefer to work comfortably from a hotel bed rather than using an uncomfortable desk and chair. While the ambidextrous dual retractable mouse pad is a useful feature for both left and right-handed users, the most impressive aspect is the overall stability and surface quality. The surface allows the mouse to track perfectly without needing a separate pad. Furthermore, the design is robust—placing my hand on the retractable tray does not cause the laptop desk to tilt NOR does feel flimsy like it will break. Believe me I did apply more than simple force to it. Beyond the excellent functionality, the Laptop Lap Desk itself is sturdy yet lightweight, making it genuinely portable and easy to slip into a backpack or laptop bag. Great quality and easy to use. I love the pull out mouse pad tray. I have a 15.6 inch laptop and the tray fits it perfectly. It is very comfortable as well. It has grips on the bottom so it wont slip. Worth the purchase.

I already have a couple of lap desks but they were either too bulky or didn't have enough surface area to use a mouse. I wanted something really lightweight so I could pop it in a backpack or tote bag, but still use my mouse because I hate track pads. I initially wondered whether anyone made a retractable mouse surface that you could stick to the underside of a laptop, and honestly this feels like a similar solution without having to actually stick anything to your laptop. It's so lightweight and easy to take anywhere. The footprint is only very slightly larger than my laptop, but the mouse tray (which slides out from either direction) provides that extra area needed to use a mouse. The surface itself is just right, so no mousepad needed. The surface of the desk part is just grippy enough that the laptop stays put even if I'm using it at a tilt. It slides very easily into a laptop bag, backpack, tote bag. It doesn't provide any extra height but when I want to elevate it a little, I just put a throw pillow in my lap under it. I also use it on top of a very small tray table at times when I want to use my laptop with mouse and the mouse wouldn't ordinarily fit. Honestly, one of my favorite purchases that gets so much use.

[Build] This lap-pad is built sturdy. The quality feels nice especially around the rubber pads. [Size] Extremely portable. I was looking for something to bring along with my ultra book in a bag for train use, and this Lap-pad is extremely useful. For referecne, my ultrabook is 13.3 inches. I was also surprised that it managed to also fit my 16 inch bulky gaming laptops. [Mouse Pad] Perhaps the weakest link of this lap-pad was the mouse-pad. It slides out very easy, and its a great size, however its too smooth, so if your mouse doesn't have rubber feet, it ends up sliding everywhere when you go to type something on your laptop. I wish it was made out of a less smooth material. [Conclusion] Overall, this lap-pad is built great, has a great size that fits up to 16 inch laptops, and is very lightweight. However, the biggest thing holding it back is the material used for the mousepad, despite this downside I would definitely still buy again. Update: I've modified the mousepad and added thin grip tape. This simple modification still allows the mousepad to slide out, but also keeps my mouse steady. This brings the product up to 5 stars. However. Im keeping it at 4 since I believe this should have been considered.

Great for when I only have a seat and no table to work at. The rubber on top and bottom of the main section is very grippy, even at up to a 45° angle. The mouse tray works very well. My only complaint with the tray is that the raised rubber edge is only on one side (either the top or the bottom of the tray, depending on how you orient the lap desk), and I've had the mouse slip off the opposite side that did not have the lip. Rubber edges on top and bottom of the mouse tray would be much appreciated.

Bought this product specifically for days where i want my "Lap" top tp actually live up to the name. With this my laptop can stay clear from my skin or the fabric of my clothes and I feel comfortable that my device is able to have good airflow as well. The wieght isn't too much and It even comes with a very sturdy mouse pad that is accessible for left handed people as well. I have no complaints.

I purchased this last year and highly recommend. I use it frequently when traveling or sometimes at home if not at my desk. The design accommodates both left and right handed people. Very sturdy, light weight, compact.

Works well to disapate the heat for a laptop and to keep the cooling openings open. It works so well that I bought a second when I changed to a laptop. We have both a 15.6 and 16 HP laptops and it fits them both.

Playing games on my laptop really got it hot. I needed a pad without fans to cool off my legs. This works great. It is very light and my 15.7 inch laptop fits well. I can play easily without feeling the heat now. The slide out mouse pad seems a little flexible but you can switch to left or right and it might come in handy.

I've bought a few trays looking for something I can use consistently but they're always too thick or too heavy or the angles are wrong. Initially, I picked up the Targus version of this style of tray but I found myself disappointed. Laptops and keyboards weren't stable and mice were making spirited attempts to escape the mouse tray at speed. The idea is good so I kept looking until I found this. It's spot on for what I need and is everything my empty soul has been longing for. The two big grippy bits on the main tray face hold devices in place perfectly with no annoying rotation or slippage as you type. But I was most pleased with the mouse deck. Not only is it available on either side but it has a simple strip of grippy stuff along the bottom edge (only right facing). This alone is enough to arrest the motion of even the most active of rodents and prevents their escape into furniture. Lastly, considering the difference in price is only a few quid, the quality over the Targus is massive. The mouse deck on this tray feels a lot more solid and I feel like I can safely rest my hand on it

I use this to work on a train or wherever there is no table. It is very practical however it is heavy and bulky and could do with a lip to stop the mouse/pens from rolling off.
