How do you remove it?

When you're removing something that's very sticky and you can't get googone under it to loosen it, use a long piece of floss. You'll hold each end of the floss, press it as close to the wall as possible, and slice through the adhesive from top to bottom (or left to right). You'll still have a residue, but this you can put some googone on and it'll soften up and come off. All without damaging the wall.

Has anyone come up with a solution to the fast unroll problem?

I use three black rubber bands and hang up the paper towel to go under. This has helped me with the paper roll.

Is there room for oversized rolls of paper towels?

Yes! I only buy double roll paper towels, there’s just enough space.
