Purchased on a whim and am glad I did, Lightweight and so easy to use without a strap. Sounds great and the good news is I have advanced quite quickly. I would certainly recommend for Noobs

Admittedly, I didn't buy this bass from amazon as I wanted to try out different instruments in a shop first. This was the first bass I picked up and I didn't have to try any others. I am not new to bass - I have been playing about 34 years, but wanted an instrument that was passive, light, full scale and either had JJ or PJ pickup configuration. I don't know what I was expecting - I have played some really nice, expensive instruments over the years and this is not a million miles away from them in terms of feel, finish and playability. Make no mistake, you can gig and record with this (I will be doing), it is not just a beginners instrument, though it is very beginner friendly. Unlike many copies of traditional shapes, which can be unbalanced, this is perfectly balanced. It is blemish free and looks great in the flesh. The best bit has to be the neck, which although wider than a Jazz bass at 41mm nut (instead of 38mm), is really slim and easy to get around - the satin finish helps here too. The pickups sound like a Jazz bass should and although not super high output, are completely fine. I might upgrade them down the line, but it's not a priority. The bridge is a branded bent plate type, but again, is absolutely fine and adjusts and intonates really well. The truss rod access is a breeze and the tuners hold tune perfectly and feel smooth. The only thing that needs changing is the strings - the stock ones are poor. Despite this, the bass is very playable out of the box - I adjusted the truss rod, saddles and got a nice low action. This is 1000 times better than the bass I started on years ago and begs the question, when cheap instruments are this good, why pay more? Yes, there are better basses out there and if I was a professional musician, I might want to spend five times this or more on a better instrument, but there again, I might not. With this bass, I can cover a huge range of sounds and styles, have a fun and very playable instrument and not worry about it being stolen or damaged too much. This bass is very good and not just for the price.

I'm a Ibanez user myself and I regret nothing. I was intending at 1st to go for the Ibanez Gio GSR200, but due to Prime Day, I got a discount of almost £70 on the GSR180 and decided to give it a try. The bass responds too well, it has a powerful and bright tone despite being passive and it competes fairly and in equal terms against my Ibanez GSR206 which is active! It plays very well, no fret buzzes at all. It's all I could have asked for! Edit 1: just coming to say that after almost 5 months, the strings sound as bright as ever and this is bizarrely surprising! I'm so delighted with this bass. I love it!

Il basso é fatto bene e non ho dovuto fare nessuna modifica. Tiene l'accordatura e non é poco, ho cambiato le corde e i pickup, questa é stata una mia scelta. Il basso mi ha molto soddisfatto e non dimentico di dire che suona bene .
