Smith's 50582 Axe & Machete Sharpener, Standard, Yellow

I needed a tool to sharpen my axes and machetes as I do alot of survival hobbies and my whet stones just didn't do the job, so I bought this and it's amazing 5 stokes of it on my 22" machete and it razor sharp even my thick axes it managed to put a decent edge on plus its not bulky or heavy so it can fit in my kit bag and I can sharpen my tools out in the forests etc, highly recommended.

REVIEW This Smith's 50582 Axe and Machete Sharpener is sold through Amazon at a cost of £13.99 (July 2017) including delivery. The sharpener was delivered very quickly. The sharpener is a little awkward to use. I was very pleasantly surprised to find just how quickly an edge developed on a new, (and blunt) hatchet. The bug comes with a wire brush, it is inset into the handle. I removed it to use it, put it back in place and although it stays there it works loose and falls out very easily.

Seems to do what is says on the box, my axe blade was a little different in angle to the sharping angle on this so what just a matter of adjusting my angle when using it.

Good value for money. I have a machete for allotment purposes and found this is brilliant in sharpening the machete highly recommend.

I've had this for two year now it it still works amazing! I originally purchased it for a machete that was frequently being used to cut down really thick overgrown weeds and small trees. It had been left outside and was really dull from repeated use. It sharpened it up so well that it made cutting weeds easier and even caused a trip to the ER for a sliced thumb/palm. That's a plus for the sharpener and a good safety lesson for the machete operator who's fine now. The sharpener has been used on pocket knives, outdoor tools, kitchen knives, etc. Still works great! Very easy to use. Absolutely great value for the money.

Para cosas basicas puede servir, pero no hace milagros. Al final tuve que cambiar el machete porque no me sirvio para recuperarlo.
