Most comfortable menstrual device I've ever used!
This review is a bit late, as I bought this kit last year. However, it took a few months of practice and more months of regular wear before I felt comfortable giving it a proper review. I love this little disc. It's SO much more comfortable than pads and even tampons. I've been wanting to move away from disposable supplies and use something more sustainable and the Pixie Cup was my first foray into reusable menstrual supplies. While there was a bit of a learning curve, it was pretty easy to use! If you can insert a tampon, you can insert the Pixie Cup. I did have a few issues with positioning the disc once inserted, but there are plenty of videos/resources online that help with that. I also appreciated that the Pixie Cup comes with a removal string. I've been hesitant to try a menstrual cup, because I've heard a lot about the suction issues (😬), so I love it. The kit comes with everything you need to maintain the disc, including cleaning solution, a soaking cup and lubrication (which is really helpful when prepping for the start of your cycle). My only gripe is that the wipes it comes with aren't individually packaged; that would have been a great help for use on the go. On a final note, I love that this is a semi-local small business (yay, Missouri!). If you've been curious about trying a menstrual disc, this is a great starting place. The choice of sizes, provided cleaning supplies and neat little bag make it well worth the money!

Great kit, best disc I've found
I'd been using Softcups (rebranded to Softdiscs) disposable discs as an alternative material option off and on for years, but they had enough flaws that I wasn't comfortable using them consistently and most period underwear can't keep up with my heavy flow (those that do get a bit uncomfortable after a full day of working and period-ing)...So when I first started seeing reusable discs, I was completely on board. I've tried at least four brands and can say that for me Pixie is BY FAR the most comfortable to wear, easiest to insert and remove, and least likely to leak. Getting discs properly inserted is paramount to avoiding leaks or untimely emptying (yes, this has happened to me with other discs, no I couldn't save the pants). Thankfully Pixie's silicone material is stronger than it looks, but is still soft enough that it's comfortable to wear 99% of the time; there's a great pliability to firmness ratio which means it can "pinch" pretty easily, but won't fold up on itself the second you try to insert it or fly out of your hands across the bathroom or straight into the toilet if you don't have a voice grip. It also "opens" easily once you let go - no having to fight with it to get it into place or do a weird dance standing over the toilet (unless you want to, I guess - you do you). I was worried that the "tail" might irritate my bits (I'm prone to uti's if there's too much -erm- jostling in certain areas) or would snap right off the first time I tried to remove the disc, but so far I have had zero issues. By the time I got this kit I was already kind of an old pro at inserting, removing, and emptying discs in general, but the wipes and lube included do make the process much easier and save me from some of the anxiety caused by having to empty my disc while out/at work. Oh, and in case you're curious (I was, and you're welcome), you probably don't want to use the lube for anything *else*; it dries/absorbs relatively quickly and has a less than pleasant flavor. II did have one instance of leakage, but that was my own learning curve issue of knowing the "feel" of this disc being properly inserted and whether or not the shape was conducive to it self-correcting (it's not, in my case. If it's not placed right, I need to take it out and try again). Side note for those shopping around: My second favorite is the reusable disc by Cora, which that works great, but is an absolute pain to insert and remove without feeling like I need a surgical crew on standby (yes, even with the "convenient" tab you're supposed to be able to grip with a finger). Apparently I have a higher-sitting cervix and shorter fingers than whoever that disc is designed for.

Amazing product highly recommend
The kit was amazing everything inside is so helpful and a great price. The quality is awesome and while I just started using discs this has been an amazing set to start me out with. I did find that I wanted a small and the kit only came with a medium and large and so I emailed them and got a reply same day that they would ship one to me. This is a great product and company and I will definitely be buying from them again. Highly recommended!

Customer Service is INCREDIBLE
The customer service is absolutely out of this world, and the products are incredibly high quality. I found that the medium disc was too large their customer service offered to send me a smaller disc free of charge!! I’m a first time period haver in 15 years due to long term birth control use. I wanted to try an environmentally friendly menstrual product. I was intimidated by the disc but was excited about the applicator. I will admit - I don’t like the applicator. It’s difficult to push even with lube applied and I’ve gotten the hang of manually inserting it after my second cycle. The cups easy to clean using the included cleanser or by boiling. The “tampon string” design really makes it easy to remove. I ultimately chose Pixie as they’re a smaller company based out of my home state. After my experience with their customer service and how kind, personable, and respectful they were - I can’t imagine using another brand of period products

Disc vs Cups
So in my review, I am kind of comparing the menstrual disc versus the menstrual cups provided by pixie. I purchased and used both. I love the menstrual disc. I started out with the cups and learned the hard way that my cervix is higher than the cups allow. Made it really difficult to remove the cups on my own. I actually ended up having to ask my husband to pull out my cup the first time I used it because it sat too high. So I definitely recommend having a partner home the first time you try it in case you don’t know how high your cervix is. When it came to the disk I haven’t had a problem with removal. The string hangs just low enough like a tampon string that hangs just outside of my vagina low enough to reach with ease, but remains high enough that I don’t feel gross about going to the bathroom throughout the day and needing to replace it like I do with the typical tampon string that gets wet throughout the day. I wore the smaller disc for 12 hours just yesterday while walking around the mall and didn’t have any issues. However, I have yet to wear it during a workout. The applicator is fantastic. While it’s wider than your typical tampon applicator, I don’t find it to discomforting to insert without lube, however, using a TicTac size amount of lube and rubbing it around the top of the disc and the top of the applicator definitely makes inserting it much easier. I tend to prefer the deep squat method for insertion, however I don’t have a problem removing the disc while just sitting on the toilet. Something I noted since I bought both the cups and the disc, is that the cup applicator has little knobs on the side that I can use to get a better grip on with my thumb and fingers where the disc applicator is closer to a tampon where there’s no knobs on the side for additional grip. So I would definitely like to see that change in the future on the applicator for the disc. I provided a picture for reference. The left is the disc applicator and the right is the cup applicator. I also noticed that the dis applicator was longer than the cup applicator, but I also think that’s in relation to the length of the cups versus the discs. For my particular anatomy, I think that the cups work better for a stronger seal. And in that way, I would like to see a compilation of the cup, but with the menstrual disc removal string. Just longer and more accessible, especially if you have a higher cervix like myself. Especially because the cups applicator has the knobs on the side for easier insertion. Since I’m not sure if it’s necessarily a disc problem or an anatomy problem, I did find that I had more subtle leaks from the disc. However, I wouldn’t even necessarily call them leaks so much as it was more like spotting. I also use period washable underwear so if you use the two together, you’ll still save money than buying panty liners, however, wearing a panty liner would still be quite effective. And I also noted it only happened a couple of times throughout the day. It wasn’t consistent spotting. I also really liked how the menstrual disc kit had more products and a carrying case that I liked better than what came with the cups. However, I liked the sterilization steamer that came with the cups. You can use it on the discs as well versus putting it in the container and boiling it. However, that would be great for travel, especially if you’re staying in a hotel room and all you have available is a microwave and you don’t want to carry additional products in your luggage. However, I did notice that pixie sells the steamer separately, so you can always buy the steamer separately. And lastly, I would like to say that I also enjoy that the colors of the discs and cups are more enjoyable than your standard plain tampon.

Great tool if you don’t give up and persist in learning
Ok so this is my first month using- def a learning curve. It’s messy when you take it out and you have to make sure it’s pointing towards your tailbone when you insert and put it in all the way so it covers your cervix. If you persist in learning it I think it’s worth it! You can go 12 hours without changing anything! I usually wake up soaked in blood even using an ultra tampon and pad on the first night of my period and I woke up dry! This thing holds 7 tampons worth of blood. It’s honestly amazing but you can’t be squeamish about blood or your body.

I recommend this as a starter kit!
It was great that the kit contained everything I needed and allowed me to try out most of the products sold by the company. However, the applicator was larger than I expected; using the lubricant that came with it, I was able to insert it easily without any pain or soreness. It might vary from person to person, but if I used the applicator or just inserted it without lubricant, the disc felt too tight and sore during insertion. Unfortunately, even the Medium size felt a bit too big for my body, so I didn't even open the Large size. However, thanks to the incredibly kind customer service, I received a full refund for the kit, and I plan to use that money to purchase the Small size and a sterilizer. Aside from the size not fitting quite right, I am very satisfied with the product itself. It is easy to insert and remove, and it has everything you need for using a disc for the first time. I am Asian and on the smaller side (for reference, my height is 158cm). If you are not in that category, I think either the Medium or Large size will fit you. Even if the size doesn't quite fit like mine, there is no need to worry haha. As I mentioned above, this company will definitely provide excellent customer service.

I am NEVER going back!!!
As someone who struggles with their menstrual cycle for a variety of reasons, this is the most comfortable I have ever been on my period in my life. I have been singing this product's praises every chance I get and would happily convert everyone I know to a pixie cup disk. I am able to actually forget I am on my period and not have that constant uncomfortable anxiety that something is going to leak. Tampons always leaked for me because of my tilted cervix. Pads make me feel damp and hyper aware. I always have clotty flow and I'm aware of every cold puddle in my underwear and terrified it's going to slip right over the side into my clothes. With the disk, I only think about my period twice a day. In the morning before work and the night before bed. Once you get the hang of installation it's a breeze. As an autistic and transgender person, the sensory experience of being on my period and accompanying dysphoria ruled my life. Especially with an irregular period, I was pre-lining my underwear up to a week before my actual period start because I was so paranoid. Now I'm able to be more in tune with my cycle and I can usually pop in the small disk the day before or day of my period starting. You absolutely get your money's worth with this kit and I'm so glad I opted for this. It comes with everything you could possibly need for a much better price than collecting the pieces individually. Now instead of a giant bin of pads and tampons I have this one little bag under the sink! It also gives me an opportunity to try out this brands products and see what I would want to continue buying or what I would choose to skip. Again, highly recommend getting this kit instead of filling your cart with the individual items. The lubricant is great for the first period with the disk and makes the process much smoother. I love the attached string for mess free removal. The little washes and wipes all work great and I had no irritation from any of it (which I am prone to). All in all this is a cute and comprehensive kit for anyone who has been thinking of switching up their menstrual routine. Five stars!

No applicator in the kit
I ordered this because I wanted the applicator. My package didn’t come with an applicator which is unfortunate

Good starter bundle & applicator (sold separately)
Update: I have found that practicing the scooping method when using the disc works really well. So far it seems to be in place and there have been no leaks. Admittedly, I'm only at the beginning of my cycle so time will tell as I get a bit heavier whether it is in place properly or not. For those that might find the pull string a bit uncomfortable, I found tucking it under the bottom of the disc keeps it out of the way and prevents rubbing but is also then easy to access when you need to pull the cup out. ----------- Original review: I bought these because I was desperate to get away from big towels, especially during the heatwave. I find the idea of these easier and a little less 'invasive' than cups especially as there is no suction holding it in place so you can easily pull it out (my hands get stiff from time to time so I lose movability). I found it easy to put in, however, on the day I used them my cervix decided to shift towards my tail bone and I found, even with the applicator, I couldn't quite get it 'tucked' at the back. So I invested in the pixie cup too. This isn't a fault with the product and I have kept them for the days my cervix behaves itself as I felt it was much easier to put the disc in than the cup, especially with checking if it had opened properly. Pros- Excellent bundle. Having 2 different sizes helps you to find your 'fit'. The sanitising bowl is fantastic. I used it both ways, in the microwave and with boiled water fresh from the kettle. Easy to do either. Having the cleansing gel and wipes means you always know your product is clean before reuse. The travel lube is handy too, so if you do need to empty and reuse your disc whilst out it means you don't need to carry a big pump/bottle around with you. The little canvas bags are colour matched to the colour of the disc which makes it easier to see which size you're grabbing without having to open them all. And they all fit nicely in the black bag for monthly storage. Cons- If your cervix shifts you may find it a bit tricky to get into the right position. It is possible but requires a bit of practice, which is why I'll try again on my next cycle, even if I shift, to see if I can get it to work. ******** Frustratingly, I cannot review the applicator separately so I will do it here. I found this applicator is very good for helping to keep the disc folded during insertion as, due to my hands, I was finding it tricky to keep it folded. Being able to change the end of the 'plunger' part to match the size of the disc is also handy. The only issue I have is the cleaning aspect. Yes, it can be cleaned with water and a suitable cleanser but I find it tricky to rinse inside the applicator, especially if it's been a messy insertion. Having a small brush like item to help with this would make it even better. It is larger than a super plus tampon but I found using lube made using this really easy. Definitely worth the investment if you struggle to keep your disc folded whilst inserting.
