Moon Palace Sumi Ink 180ml

I wanted an ink that was made for dip pens, straight and angled. I did some research and this one came on my radar, I thought go on then I'll take a chance, glad I did because the ink just works beautifully for copperplate and other scripts. It dries in no time at all, it does have a funny smell but you get used to that and the price is fantastic for what I'm using it for. A perfect practice ink that will see you right.I had to find a jar or pot with lid to hold the ink and I needed the opening to allow a oblique pen holder, I used Loreal Age Perfect pot, cleaned out of course. I twisted the neck of the ink cap and poured right to the top of the Loreal jar and there is still over three quarters left of this product. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

Certainly a powerful colour and permanent once dry, avoid spilling it on the carpet or anything of fabrics unless you are looking to use it on cloths, then cotton is best and drip it into cold water after its dried to set it, it is a very very dark black, great for Calligraphy and using with a chinese brush.

Really good sumo ink.

Disliked the bottle. A wider top would be nice. I use the ink for the hospital book of remembrance. The best I've tried to date as it doesn't bleed as much as others.

It should not be used in a fountain pen 5. It dries slowly 6. It is very good value If you know what you want it for, don't hesitate to try this high quality black ink

Great value for money. I use this ink for French batarde script and black letter medieval scripts on many varietys of paper through a leonardt dip pen nib with resevoir loaded with a pipette... ideal viscosity, dosent dry and clog like most budget chinese bottled ink, cleans off nib easily, works great on rhodia paper and performs great on all the calligraphy pad paper which is average at best, I've tried loads and loads of inks on many different surfaces, this is the best budget go to bottle ink by far for mexample when I don't want to grind my very expensive chinese stick ink. Go for it...
