Nice quality. I use it for scrimshaw and it definitely beats the hypodermic needles I was using before. I have good control with this unlike a powered engraving tool. Although I did wrap it with athletic tape for a little more comfort.

I use these to write on candles before I burn them. I don't remember how much I spent on them but they are nice and durable.

I'm metal fabricator on a daily basis. While this scribe feels cheap in your hand, don't be fooled. This is a worthy purchase. I scribe into hardened material like AR plate and Cutting Edges on heavy equipment all day everyday.i bought the 2 pack scribe with like 12 inserts. 3 months in I'm still using the original insert with no indication in sight that I need to change it. The magnet on the opposite end from the insert is unnecessary and just collects metal shavings but that is a minor inconvenience. I highly recommend this product. Please for the love of God don't change it!

The build quality on these scribers is impressive — solid, sturdy, and the tungsten carbide tips are clearly made to last. The aluminum body feels great in the hand, the magnetic tip holder is a nice touch, and having 12 replacement tips included adds real value. For marking metal objects with numbers and identification marks, it gets the job done. That said, I have to be honest — writing with it is genuinely difficult. Achieving clean, legible lines takes a lot of patience and a steady hand. I find myself struggling to print neatly, and the results don't always look as precise as I'd like. It's more of a technical skill than I anticipated, and I'm actively looking into other tools or techniques to help improve my lettering. If you're using it for simple, rough markings, you'll probably be satisfied. But if you need clean, readable text on your metal pieces, just know there's a learning curve that the product description doesn't quite prepare you for. Three stars — great build, but not as user-friendly as I hoped.

I purchased this item after doing some research about engraving by hand. I do have a Dremel, but I wanted to find something that was safer and would give me more control AND wouldn't kick up a bunch of particles unnecessarily. I'm very glad that this was the one I bought because it's a reliable tool that works exactly as expected! The tips are VERY easy and intuitive to change out compared to similar types of tools. They also don't dull quickly, which is a pleasant surprise. (Partly because it's very very tempting to use them to open boxes.) I also very much like that the tip covers are red because that makes them slightly easier to find when they fall on the floor or get buried in desk clutter. (Suggestion for seller - add a few more for peace of mind in case any get lost)

Love these pens The magnetic “rubber” at one end is a detail not found on most other scribes The knurling makes them easy to grip. The nibs are easy to replace Unfortuantly one arrived defective. The thread on it wont allow me to screw on the cap so it cant hold a nib Makes it completely useless which is a shame. Ofher one works great Cant return as its a gift for very soon. Womt have time to get another

Liked this product. I use scribers to do dimensional layouts on steel surfaces, the tungsten tip far out does any hardened steel tip scribers by far, even if there is a carbon scale on the steel being scribed, these tips scribe everything other than carbide or diamond. great product and has a magnet on the other end to pick up small screws or whatever that is attracted to magnets. buying the 4-pack with more tips is the best buy. No regrets about getting these scribblers.
