My daughter really enjoys these books. I wish they packaged soft covers more carefully so that they did not get all bent in the shipping process..

Finished this series and am lending it to my niece. Series goes into depth about the world of Gensokyo which frankly deserves much more attention. Players of the series should invest few bucks into the literature, hope we continue getting more series in the future.I'd love in the future if the world of Gensokyo was discussed on par with Narnia, Hogwarts, and other fantasy realms that exist parallel to ours. Chapters are episodic but show character development. Characters are caught in a clever balancing act between a variety of 'monstrous' youkai and humans. Uniquely there is no romantic subplots, and characters develop relationships based on their overarching objectives within Gensokyo. For those unfamiliar, the entire cast of main characters in the Touhou series are females. There is a good variety of novel archetypes in the series for underrepresented demographics to relate to.

I was so excited to be able to read a Touhou book in English. The art is great and the story is intriguing. An absolute must-have series for fans of Zun and the Touhou series.

What a surprise to have a Touhou manga series be localized, but quite a nice surprise. The book itself feels great to hold, the pages are all in fine shape, and everything else is just as good. The translators did a fantastic job making the story understandable for a western audience while still being clever with the writing, (something most Touhou fan translations don't always have going for them.) The stories presented are rather simple in nature, but that's to expected from Touhou, and it's overall a very fun read if you're interested in the series. On the whole, I very much enjoyed my time reading the book and I earnestly look forward to future volumes.

I adore slice of life and that is pretty much this is. As others have said, localization is great, and there is a page for defining specific terms or character seen.I was a fair bit disappointed by how short it was. Finished it in about an hour. Last few pages was entirely art, which was still neat. Heck, its even said that those are partly there to add more pages.Maybe my expectation was a bit unreasonable. Either way, great for all Touhou fans.

ZUN's writing really shines in the manga format, showing the carefree lives of the girls of Gensokyo while also revealing interesting new magical threats is pure Touhou. You may even find yourself learning more about mythology, I know I'll be getting the rest. Definitely pick this up if you're a fan of the series and want to support it.

First official Touhou manga I've read. Book quality is alright, print is really clear. Translation is as good as it can get. Without going into detail, story is definitely good. Waiting for Vol. 2P.S The book was shipped to me without wrapping or any form or the protection. Some corners of the book were worn out.

considering this was used its pretty much brand new with no damage to the spine and all pages are in pristine condition, would highly recommend this seller
