Great for those who suffer from sensitive underarms, itching and burning.
I have had skin sensitivity for years, especially where my underarms seem to burn at times, or get itchy. I have tried so many different products all of which were supposed to be for sensitive skin. I was worried that the product would still let me sweat because it was missing certain ingredients or smell because it was just masking something, all the fears of having a natural product. I have to honestly say this product goes on smooth, feels a little waxy, but protects me from sweating and actually smells good. It's all natural, down to the container. I highly recommend giving it a try, its worked great for me.

Packaging warning
This is the safest, the most natural but effective deodorant that I know of. However, I have one dislike and that is the new packaging! The material used looks like cardboard and it frays around the edges that are inserted into the outer cover and you will experience failure to close with ease due to the fraying at some point in time. Also you cannot meter the amount of of deorderant easily. I personally have used the product for approximately 10 and am sold on it. I will not knowingly purchase thi product in the future if they keep this new packaging.

I hate the new paper packaging
I hate the new card board paper packaging. This packaging is ridiculous. It is cheap. Opening it for the first time is difficult. Closing it is difficult. Pushing the deodorant up is difficult since it is not a twist up. I keep my deodorant in the bathroom. My bathroom has a lot of moisture guess what happens when paper gets wet? I accidentally knocked over my deodorant in the sink the deodorant packaging got soggy like a paper straw. Now its even harder to put the lid on. I get your trying to help save the plant ( a little to late) and cutting cost on plastic packaging but when it comes to hygienic products and food paper packaging should be avoided. This is what vital proteins collagen did with there packaging now my collagen has a higher risk of tiny bugs like weevils going into it disgusting. Also I feel like the formula has changed or this new packaging is causing my armpits to itch. The first Native Deodorant I purchased was in normal amazing packaging and worked amazing. I thought I had finally found a deodorant for sensitive skin fragrance free NATURAL ingredients. Nope. I finally find something and it gets ruined. For such an EXPENSIVE product it should be in the fanciest packaging instead of the cheapest. Is the paper packaging organic, toxic free? or is it recycled paper toilet? I'm so annoyed from this. I was going to try Native Body lotion, but I will have to pass. I will most likely not repurchase this product again. I will continue to search for a new product that doesn't have paper packaging. The reason I stopped using Sasquatch is because they changed the formula as well and I developed a rash/ itchy arm pits. These companies should listen to their customers but they never will, they don't care. It was good while it lasted.

Good smell, good function, okay shelf life
I like the scent (although the Boston creme one has now become my favorite), the cardboard, the ingredients, and the overall functioning. It's a great choice if you're looking for those things and can use it fairly quickly. One star off because although Native is my favorite brand and I've only bought them of late, I have found that they can become less effective the longer they sit on my shelf. This likely wouldn't be an issue for most people. I just have a collection of 3-5 scent choices at any given time, so mine don't get used as frequently and their shelf time is longer as a result. As far as the effectiveness when the tube is newer, it's completely fine. It's not an antiperspirant, so I still sweat, but it is an effective deodorant for me. I social dance and generally sweat a lot then, so I usually reapply once during the evening if the event is running more than a few hours. Even then, it's more for my own piece of mind than because I've noticed any odor. A bonus of the paper packaging: I can cut the bottom off as I use it so it takes less space when traveling. I noticed no difference in shelf life between this packaging and the typical plastic packages, and this one is a better choice for plastic reduction.

Sustainable, fragrance free option, sufficient for not-so-sweaty people
As a person who prefers fragrance free body care, the Native deodorant represents a good option that's also sustainable and (slightly more) natural. Personally I don't like any of the scented options of Native, maybe the Coconut Vanilla is tolerable. The scents are too strong, but I know that others like that. I want my body care to smell of nothing at all; if I want to smell good, I'll use a fragrance afterwards. The fragrance free Native deodorant helps me smell of nothing... just clean. It's not the most efficient deodorant (not even from the more natural options), but I'm not also the most sweaty or stinky person. Most time of the year the Native deodorant is just enough; and if I hike for a day in the hot summer... there will be more stinky and sweaty things than my arm pits. The selling point for me with native is the plastic free packaging, since I try to be less wasteful and more sustainable in my daily life. Don't be fooled by the cardboard packaging. Yes, in time it gets slightly oily and you can see in the picture that after a couple of months the cardboard looks yellow... but it's perfectly functional and won't disintegrate before you use up the deodorant. I have sensitive skin and the Native deodorant fragrance free doesn't irritate my armpits even after shaving. Usually from the regular deodorants / antiperspirant with aluminum my armpits get slightly darkened, with Native I have no issue. The deodorant is creamy and glides easily. It stains the clothes, but I have a solution for that. I apply the deodorant at night and it the morning I wipe any excess.

Worked great until they kept arriving defective
I have been using this deodorant for at nearly three years. Although it sometimes leaves greasy looking stains on my clothes, generally it has worked pretty well for me and I have been happy with it. Most importantly, I appreciate that it comes non-scented and in a non-plastic container, both primary reasons I continue to buy. Additionally, while it sometimes has caused my armpits to feel a little itchy, it has been much less irritable than other deodorants I have used, which I appreciate. However, the last THREE shipments I have received have been totally defective. What I mean by that is this: the deodorant "housing" itself is cut wrong, with the seam in the wrong place, causing the bottom to fall off and the remainder of the package to remain sealed, unopenable, and totally unusable. When I originally received a shipment of three (all defective), I returned them all and ordered three more. In this second shipment, one of the three was defective. When I returned that one and received a replacement in the mail, the replacement was also defective. I'm not sure what's happening on their production line or whether it's simply a bad batch at my local amazon warehouse, but it's been extremely frustrating having to return defective deodorants constantly. I'm hesitant to buy again.

Amazing Plastic Free Option
I've been using this for years now after trying to find a plastic-free option since it's such a waste to use such a bulky plastic contraption for a couple weeks just to throw it away (not sure why no one's come up with a mass-produced refillable option). It took a bit for my body to adjust to the formulation, and to get used to how a paper-based packaging in reality would work. Depending on the stick, sometimes you have to squeeze/grip the sides firmly so the stick doesn't go down during application, the paper cardboard will discolor/stain because of the deodorant oils (so not as "pretty" as plastic), and when you get to the end of the stick the last 1-1.5 mm might pop off (which you can just put back on and more gently apply if you want to use every last bit). Once you get the hang of it it's not a big deal (my young daughter can use it easily), and it's a small adjustment to make compared to the POUNDS of plastic that would've been going straight into our already polluted environment (because let's face it - deodorant sticks are a wish-recycling type of item). In the end this is a solid plastic-free deodorant option, BUT as of April 2026, Native informed long-time users like myself that they will be discontinuing their plastic free line, which is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I hope they re-consider their decision in the future.

Container collapse
This is the best deodorant I've ever used, the product itself. No irritation, smells mild and pleasant. Keeps odor away for more than one day if your camping. Big problem why I gave it a 3 is..the container is cardboard and part of it feel off and the container part you hold collapsed from just the pressure of holding it while applying. Its crushed together making it very difficult to use. I'm still trying since it's a great deodorant, but whoever decided on cardboard, needs their squash examined for defects. Please put the charcoal in plastic. It's better than the other scented versions.

Solution for- trouble with opening
So before I bought this product I read a lot of reviews about how everyone loves this but have trouble opening it. I still decided to try it. It got delivered today. .. I see EXACTLY what they are talking about. But there's a simple solution. .. just cut two tiny wedges in the lid like I did in the pic. One in each side. And it will open smoothly. I mean ideally the company should just make that change in their packaging. That will be easier.

Great product. Horrible packaging.
I’ve always loved this deodorant but the new packaging is horrible! Bring back the old model it was so much easier to use and apply.
