For a fraction of the price of a new unit. The actual product is overpriced for what it is and has inherent design faults that lead it to fail. But if I can get another 3-4 years out of the unit then it isn't too bad to stomach. After 3 1/2 years the mount socket failed, the original cable went last year, so I filed the mount to allow direct plug in to the back of the Tom Tom. This worked for a while but between loose micro usb cables - badly designed retaining clips that become depressed - and the unit socket it started to power off as the cable wasn't charging properly or just shifted from vibration, to the point it couldn't even boot. Having researched - it is why C replaced micro usb, after a certain number of connections it fails, somewhere between 1000 and 5000, which an average user shouldn't theoretically ever reach. So this is the last attempt before a whole new unit and having worked I can stop using my phone as an inadequate replacement. Hopefully the next time I get a whole new unit micro usb will have been totally replaced by C. TLDR - you can try all the things suggested in videos and articles for fixing a loose micro usb socket, ultimately you have to replace it.

I've had my Tom Tom 5200 for some years now and recently is taken to falling over on the dash. After examination it seems the suction disc had become torn probably due to a family member trying to remove it by grabbing the whole fitting being unaware that the Satnav screen is magnetic and the arm that holds it held on by a suction activated by twisting the base and releasing the suction. So not their fault as I should have explained but still an expensive mistake costing £46 to replace. My one concern was the type of USB socket it had as there are varying reports with some saying it has a modern USB C and other the original the older style Micro USB. Either way adapters are available to change whatever it comes with, Mine actually had the Micro USB so there was no need to change the existing cable. The suction on the new one was very tight as was the ball and socket for angling the screen. Despite the expense I'm glad I got this replacement as the sat nav no longer wobbles whenever I hit a pothole which these days is quite often.

There’s a lot of conflicting reviews regarding the charging port for this product, some customers are mentioning that the mount is USB-C and supplied with a micro-usb cable. Having taken a punt I ordered this to replace my older (failed port) Active mount I can safely say that this does have the correct micro-usb connectivity for older TomTom sat navs. Decent cable and TomTom branded charger included too.

Its a good item works well However I received a wire that does not match with the usb port, the usb port is type c and the wire isn't.

This windshield mount was for older editions of Tomtom satnavs. The cable plug socket is NOT a usb-c connection. More modern editions have this. It does it’s job well.

I only expected the mount that sticks to the window, but it came with all except the sat nav screen. Good quality and would buy again
