Easy to use, very useful
Works very well. The tiny magnet must be very close to the sensor to be registered but when it is, it is very reliable. The magnet is arranged for ease of use because the field is across the width of its disc and not North on one face and South on the other (as I had expected). This makes it easy to get close to the sensor. You can also configure the sensor to give increasing values in clockwise or anti-clockwise directions (hence the red wire in my picture)

Using this with a Raspberry Pi to determine wind direction. Works perfectly.

How did I not know these existed
Fantastic little chip, great precision and super easy to use as it either spits out a raw number up to 4000 or a PWM signal on different pins.I’m going to use it to make a wind direction sensor, but seeing how versatile it is I may use it for wind speed too.

Works within its specification. Good to know at start: by default there is no output, the solution is to tie PGO pin to VCC.
