RJ45 CRIMPER TOOLS by UniversalGadgets

I am surprised at the quality of these crimpers for the tiny price paid. I have crimped some RJ11s and RJ45s with simple ease. My pair came with a wire clip to keep the crimps closed for the tool box. The wire cutter works as expected and also the sheeve removal. The additional push down tool and sheeve removal tool also works well but will probably be of a very short life but a nice added bonus. All in all well worth the few quid spent. *** Additional info **** I suspect that there are several manufacturers of this design of crimp tool with differing degrees of quality. Mine does not have a lable on it as mentioned above, only a printed I shaped logo and the name Talon on the packaging. I have found mine to be a excellent build quality for the price paid. I have had no failures with the crimping tool just my failures by not getting the wires in the right order, must remember to check more throughly.

I needed to make a 6P6C cable - tools for this are hard to get hold of in the UK, and most retail at 30 quid plus, or a lot more for a multi-function tool. I thought the price on this one must be wrong or that the tool would be useless, but for less than a price of a pint (round our way at least), it was worth a shot. How wrong could I be? Delivered on time (a couple of days), the tool is solidly build and easy to use - it will crimp 8, 6 and 4-way connectors - slot your connector in the appropriate hole, insert the wire (remove the outer sheath but usually no need to strip the small internal wires). Quick squeeze of the handle and we were done. I don't know how it would stand up to 'industrial' use, but for home/diy use it is better than a lot of more expensive kit I have bought down the years. I agree with other reviewers - the placement of the large cutter/stripper blade between the handles is an accident waiting to happen. I was careful, but I could see someone doing a lot of cables might slip up and slice the end off a finger in a moment of carelessness. Easy enought to unscrew the blade and keep it to one side in case you ever need it. Plastic punch down tool and mini-wire stripper was a bonus. Doubt it would last long, but perfectly adequate for the odd home telephone wiring job.

We all love crimping, whether it be in dance form, pie toppings or RJ45 and RJ11 plug crimping. This handy tool is so cheap you won't believe it's any good but you'll be pleasantly surprised to find it's quite well built, will crimp RJ45 plugs, RJ11 4pin and RJ11 6 pin - so that's 3 individual crimpers built into one tool, plus the cable stripper blade (also known as the finger tip remover/ nail clipper for the clumsy amongst you) Next in the pack is the mysterious little yellow thingy - it's a cable cutter (insert cable, squeeze the lever down and rotate the cable to cut the outer shielding... it's also a punch tool to insert cables into phone sockets or network sockets.... would get you out of trouble but by a proper KRONE puncher for serious jobs. Finally, it was delivered super fast, next working day delivery. How any profit is made selling this tool for a couple of pounds is a mystery but I for one whole heartedly recommend this for your occasional networking needs..... EDIT: reading other reviews, it seems some people are cutting off the tips of their fingers due to the built in cutting tool, I haven't suffered this problem but I'd suggest you remove the cutter if you feel you might chop off your fingertips with this tool (unscrew the blade and voilà or wallah for those that insist on idiocy) Also I've found a few RJ45 plugs I had didn't crimp correctly as they were slightly different in design to my others, it seems some have a slightly different moulding and this tool (along with my other £30 RJ crimp tool) mashed up the crimp connectors - not sure why these plugs are made differerntly but they were and certainly not suitable so if you have problems carefully eye up the plug against the crimp mechanism and see if they align or not, as the case may be. This was a plug design problem rather than a crimp problem as far as I can tell. Still rate this 5 stars would rate 10 stars for the fingertip removal feature (very comedic for us that haven't had this happen yet)

I bought this as I wanted to change a small amount of cabling running through our house that had used Cat5e ethernet but just connected two threads for a telephone, to enable an LAN connection across the cable. Putting an additional cable in would be difficult, so redoing the plugs properly were the obvious best solution. For a small job like this this tool is great for the price. Others have noted in the review the cutter/wire strippers are dangerously placed. True to some extent, but not as bad as I was thinking it would be from the descriptions. Similarly the tool while it works ok does have a slightly "cheap" feel about it. If I was doing professional installations or using it a great deal I would get something else more expensive. However if you are just looking at doing occasional small jobs then this is a great tool. Worked perfectly for me and didn't cost much. I have only used the cable crimper not the other plug tool. Can't say how that works.

I originally brought this product for the yellow cutter as I already owned a decent crimp tool but I definitely think its value for money. With the ability to fit telephone jacks as well as crimp RJ45 network ports it's a great product and for a few quid you can't go wrong. I cannot comment on whether or not it will still be working in a few years but if you're looking for something to setup a simple home network, make a few extra network cables or simply to keep as a backup like me then this is a great choice. I have used to yellow cutting tool to cut off the sheathing on over 40 network cables of different sizes (CAT6 and CAT5e) and haven't damaged any of the internal cores - A quick one and a half twists and it's done. A lot quicker and safer than trying to use a Stanley knife or similar. Overall I would highly recommend this product.

This tool works perfectly for all the Ethernet cables I've crimped (I've not tried crimping anything other than Ethernet). The cable is held within the tool securely in position while you're crimping and I've not had any dud cables so it seems to work every time. The cable cutter on the crimper is very sharp and located near the handle so I have been a little nervous of getting a finger caught in there but that hasn't happened yet. There's also a really useful little jacket scoring tool which is similar to the cable cutter but fits cables neatly into it such that it only scores the jacket and doesn't go all the way through the cable. As for the little yellow tool supplied with it - I've found no use for that yet.

Tool arrived promptly. I dunno what the yellow thing is in the illustration, but I did not get one! It is designed to crimp CAT5/6 cable into an RJ45 plug. (Not for a socket, which calls for a punch down tool - just in case you are a beginner like me) The tool arrived on a cardboard mount indicating that it was a Oubao Tool, made in Shenzhen China. The "Directions ofuse" consisted of "While using press-pliers, just insert the crystal top in position and press it". That all there was in the way of instructions, but I was also pleased to read that the tool was made of "magnanic steel" and that it was "with perfect shape". The handle was embossed with the word "Germany". I suppose that was on the handle of the original tool that they copied. Anyway it works and seemed to make a good connection in the sockets. I don't think one could do the job without something like this. Trouble is there is nothing to store it in when you put it away. Be careful not to put it in a tool box or belt, or you might accidentally cut your finger off. There is a razor sharp blade exposed inside the handle. You have been warned!

Given I paid a little over two pounds for this tool, as I was only expecting to use it a limited number of times, I'm really surprised how well made it is, it feels a solid piece of kit in the hand. More importantly, of course, it actually does a good job of crimping crystals on ethernet cable. Though a seperate stripping tool came with it, there is both an integral cable cutter and bit to neatly cut the outer cover off a regular CAT5 cable. Though I didn't use it, it can also crimp RJ45 and the smaller comms cable I don't recall the name of. More than happy with this tool, it's a bargain. I bought it from Amazon reseller UK TRADE CENTRE LTD.

Cela faisait près de 20 ans que je n'avais pas serti un câble réseau et je n'ai eu aucun souci pour le faire avec cette pince. Donc même si vous êtes débutant, vous pouvez vous en servir sans problème. Il n'y a besoin de rien de plus que la pince et le cutter fourni pour changer complètement les connecteurs d'un câble réseau (RJ45 pour ma part). Et vu le prix, pas la peine de chercher plus longtemps.

Cette pince à sertir fonctionne très bien et son cutter est un plus agréable. Son faible prix est encore plus surprenant. Dans le commerce, comptez le double (et même le triple) de cette valeur pour trouver un produit équivalent. Astuce :N'hésitez pas à serrer très fort (même deux fois) au moment du sertissage ;)

+4 car il s'agit d'une pince qui rempli son rôle concernant les connecteurs RJ45 et RJ11. A voir sur la durée. -1 car le produit reçu était dans une boite abimée et recouvert de graisse.

Pas de bon’e Qualité les plug ne sont pas assez sertis. Je dois acheter un autre modèle. Je déconseille fortement
