Get Out (4K Ultra-HD) [Blu-ray] [2017]

An intelligent and thought provoking film with the emphasis firmly on psychological horror. It is also very funny in places. The quality of the acting is outstanding throughout and brilliantly directed so as the story progresses and the viewer's unease gradually mounts, things never quite reach the point of absurdity as is so often the case in many horror movies. Things are odd and outlandish for sure yet strangely believable and that is what makes this film so frightening. I definitely found myself sucked into the lead character's world. If you're looking for a conventional blood and guts evil monster movie with jump scares every five minutes, then this movie will not appeal. If you like your horror to be uncanny, unsettling, have an unusual plot and an interesting underlying commentary (in this instance on modern racial relations between black and white), then this film may well appeal. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie; I only wish that more producers would make horror films of this calibre.

I watched this superlative film five times before (I believe) I got to rock bottom on the full horror of the story, for 't did not seem to be only black persons who were 'getting down' in the story. The film is easily the black-person equivalent of the Stepford Wives, and has led me to look up other films by the same writer/director, Jordan Peele. Totally to be recommended. You must see it at least twice.

Darkly humorous, disturbing, brilliantly acted, scripted and directed. Enjoyable, tense, thought-provoking.Reminds me a little of a film from the 70s called "Nothing but the Night" which, whilst it had a great cast (Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Diana Dors, Keith Barron, Fulton McKay and a very young Gwyneth Strong, playing a lead role with astonishing maturity) was maybe not as slick as this ( but I guess the main differences being 40 years and about 40 million dollars - quote/unquote).Get Out is an excellent, witty and original take on humanity's ubiquitous search for immortality an the horrific lengths some might be persuaded to go to to find it., Makes you ask yourself a few questions too. Brilliant stuff.

Good purchase

A surprisely good film. I had not come across the lead actor before, actually an English guy with a realistic US accent. Good script and for his debut film well directed with a nice twist at the end. Not your average blood and guts horror but certainly worth a watch.

Was concerned on disc arrival as smelt fusty and packaging very damaged. So immediately checked it out and the actual disc was okay. Very enjoyable little film, felt like a 1970’s film so was surprised to read it released 2017.

No spoilers here but you sort of get sucked into the story because the storyline lets you know what is going on beh8ndmte main characters back. However you don’t get the full story. But the story centres around a disfunctional family who have penchant for black guys and we find out later a woman. However all is not as it seems. The black people that the boyfriend meets are sort of broken as people ie something is missing. Anyway it s grandads birthday. But grandad isn’t there. We assume he is dead. We will meet grandad and grandma later in the film. Anyway the mum is a hypnotist and one night hypnotises the boyfriend. He brings this up with the girlfriend next morning. Back to the party. A silent bidding war goes on after everyone has touched the goods. However one of the black guys at the party looks familiar to him. He takes a photo of him with a flash and the buried persona breaks forth and tells him to get out. But you realise that he is telling the guy to get out. Good acting and script and bit of the Omen about the soundtrack. The ending is great and we get to meet grandma and grandpa. The guy should have won the Oscar as the film itself.

This film was ok. It is definitely NOT a horror and I don't know where that idea comes from. It isn't even thrilling to me,but it was ok.--I stuck it out.From nearly the beginning it became a little obvious what was happening.Seems like I am in a minority in my not liking but good job really that we are not all the same in our likes and dislikes,

Muy contento con esta compra. Llegó con slipcover, cosa que es moneda al aire si llega con él o no.Audios y subtítulos en español, sirve el Blu-ray y DVD, pues la copia digital no es válida en México. Y en general una buena adición a mi colección!

Entre el horror, el humor y el comentario político; qué buena película. Y el material adicional está fantástico.

Vi el trailer de esta película en el cine y me llamo la atención pero no pude ir a verla, un día navegando por amazon la encontré en oferta y la compre sin ninguna expectativa. Ahora es una de mis películas favoritas de terror y misterio y definitivamente ocupa ya un lugar de honor en mi colección, una propuesta muy original que sale de lo convencional, reitero definitivamente la sorpresa del 2017, vaya hasta nominaciones al Oscar tiene quien lo iba a creer.
