Ripper! Better than the Fluke 115 it replaced!
Very impressed so far, it replaced a perfectly good Fluke 115 because I wanted something a little smaller and I trust Dave Jones opinion. Build quality is not quite up to the Fluke with a couple of finishes looking cheaper and cheaper feeling plastics and function switch but to drop a star would be whingeing - And I'm not a whingeing Pom! The areas where it scores over the Fluke are, it's clearer display with larger digits, seems quicker to read, doesn't auto power off so quickly, better quality test leads that standard Fluke TL71, more features: Temperature etc. And it was cheaper than a fluke 115. Time will tell if it is as reliable as a fluke...

The meter is great and well within spec....but
The meter is great and well within spec....but it is £50 more expensive for the EEVBlog decor. I would just buy the Brymen direct and original as the blue decor does not improve the instrument at all. All good if you are a total fan boy else FAIL

Been waiting for this to be available in the Uk
Excellent meter for the price, good set of features. It's spot on accurate with high quality and robust build. Display is excellent, large contrasty digits visible from a distance and a variety of angles. Only (very) minor gripe is that the last digit of reading can take a couple of seconds to stabilise.

Fantastic quality and very quick and accurate.
Backlit display is very useful at times. And it's as accurate and repeatable as can be, which is why it is worth every penny.

Bargain price! Almost Perfect!
I would give this a 4.5 star if possible but I still give it 5 since its more like a 4.55 star rounded to 5. I wanted to write this review to do some justice. I usually do not write a review when a product is good - I just use it. I usually do not write a review when the product is bad - I just return it. However I think there's undue negative views on the net that needed to be demystified. I saw a youtube video titled "Brymen BM235 EEVB Intermittent backlight issue." Basically if you pressed around the Hold button area while the backlight is on, it turns it off. I got mine today and my EEVblog 235 does not do that. If yours act up the same way, you have a defect - simply exchange it! Its a great multimeter. Search under google.com - "LCD viewing angle - EEVblog Brymen BM235 - LCD issues or normal?" It talks about viewing angles not being good for a multimeter that's not a "cheapy." However having the BM235 in front of me, I almost want to say the Op of the forum has a defect - the op's picture looks worse than mine. The only time it wasn't readable when it was at extreme angle - most people don't work like this at their bench. These two were my biggest concerns however, no problems. I took a leap of faith looking at the 5 star reviews and I'm glad I did. Now you might ask why 4.5 stars? Well Dave has high standards and although this meter meets most of his his standards: - The multimeter has a cheap stand that bends. Not too stable when turning the knob. I know Dave is not fond of this quality on Sub $100 DMM. - I got this DMM in a whitebox with no manual. I remember Dave dinging the manufacturers of most cheapy multimeters for having bad manual with Chinglish grammar if you will. Well when I got mine, there was no manual of any sort. But its a minor gripe since I can find it on the website. Now that I got that out of the way - well y'all already know the good stuff about the multimeter: - 6000 counts and True RMS multimeter (compare that to Fluke 17B+ 4000counts, non true RMS) - Super high quality fuses, super safe, UL listed. - Look Ma! This one has it all! Milivolts, Miliamps, and Microamps - great for electronics. (Long time ago I bought a Fluke 117; its for electricians for big appliances, not electronics. Hey this BM 235 can do both) - Rock solid enclosure build - Dave wouldn't have it any other way - Compact, super convenient size - Bright backlight - Super fast continuity sound test - Bonus goodies - high quality probes My last thought is that UNI-T UT61E is not bad in terms of features, but doesn't have the input protection like BM235. Also BM235 has backlight for people who need to work in dimly lit areas.

Great multimeter
Needed a multimeter for an ESP32 project and thought hey - why not buy Dave's multimeter instead of a trip to a major electronics hobby chain. Best multimeter I've owned. Works brilliantly. No complaints here aside from wishing I had smaller probes for some of the more finicky electronic work. He's right - this isn't just a cheapie. It'll last you for many years to come.

Was soll man sagen? :-)

great little meter
well, some people talk a big talk... Dave Jones delivers. this little meter is packed full of useful features that actually work very well. a great compliment to anyone's meter collection. if your heavy into electronics it's a great extra meter that won't let you down when used within it's specs(which it actually meets). if your just looking for a quality meter for general use around the house... look no further. its a very robust little meter that does everything that a DIY guy would ever need. and it is an extremely accurate meter as well(again working within it's specs). my favorite thing about this meter is the user manual which states in the warranty section that the warranty will NOT be honored unless you've broken the seal and had a look inside. that's complete confidence in a product as well as a high level of confidence in the customer as well. i just finished running all the tests on this meter and am not left wanting. it's very rare that a product meets and exceeds it's claims. this one does. i will happily display it right next to my $600 Keysight and Fluke 87. by the way it has one of best continuity functions I've seen on any meter. that function alone is worth the money. thanks Dave... great little meter
