BergHOFF Seren Side Loading Toaster with Cool Touch Exterior and Removable Crumb Tray, With Red Panel use as Serving Tray

My elderly mother brought this, as its easier for her to load from the side. It comes with a two pin American plug so you have to buy adapter. We turned it on (on setting 3)as it suggests in the instructions to get rid of the smell of the plastic. It was a good job I tried it instead of my mum, as the unit became so hot it started to melt the outer casing and the plastic rack inside. At which point I unplugged it and took it outside rather quickly. Something I know my mum or any elderly person would struggle with. The out come could have been a whole lot worst. So my advice on this item. BE SAFE, DON'T BUY IT!!

Some appliances are so ugly they are cute. I wish that were the case with this toaster. The pictures of the “red” fail to show just how white this thing is. The red is more of an ugly hot pink, made worse for all the white. I won’t be returning it though. The thing works great. I can see it is going to be easy to keep clean. I had a beautifully toasted Croissant for lunch. I really am torn and disappointed. I worked really hard to make my kitchen beautiful: I love good toast. I’m tempted to take a can of spray paint to it.

The only thing I don’t like that you have tho hold on to the button in order to release your toast. Otherwise, it is easy to keep clean and the smoke alarm does go off anymore when I toast bread.

Purchased this item because my husband complains every time he burns his fingers retrieving toast from our toaster. He has been looking for a replacement and saw this side insert/retrieve and thought this might work. First time using he attempted to toast an English Muffin and it was stuck. Returned this item! The search continues.
