How many litres does this bag hold

40 litres is what 511 site states. However, the sides retain their posture so it’s easier to use then a floppy bag and has separate compartment dividers which can be removed. It als has a stiffened base.

Would the water bottle pocket fit a standard (32oz) nalgene water bottle?

I van just say that i have a 27 oz kleen kantine stainless steel bottle and it fits. Hope this answer helps you a little since it's a great bag

Does this bag have a velcro strip on the top or side for affixing name strip/badge etc?

There is a Velcro strip 315 x 100mm on the top of this bag for a name or badge. I would also recommend this kit bag as I have used one for some time now and can not fault it.

Is the size in description of the whole bag outside or iside of main compartment?

my bag internal size of main compartment in mm is 450L x 210W x 260D. hope this helps.
