Fiskars Xsharpe Axe and Knife Sharpener

As someone who spends half my life splitting logs and the other half splitting stitches, I demand precision in all my tools. The Fiskars XSharp Axe and Knife Sharpener? It’s a game changer. This little beauty brings surgical sharpness to my blades while standing up to the rugged demands of the forest. The ceramic sharpening stone is chef’s axe level perfection. It hones edges with the kind of care and accuracy I’d expect from an OR scalpel. Whether it’s my trusty axe for felling trees or my utility knife for finer cuts, this sharpener delivers an edge so clean you could shave with it (not that I recommend it—been there, done that). The design is as intuitive as stitching up a laceration after years of practice. Slide the blade through a few times, and you’re back in business. It’s lightweight, compact, and doesn’t feel out of place whether it’s in my workshop or my field bag. Durability? Absolutely. The design fit well with my knives, decent price and quality. Not too heavy and easy to use, and it sharpens knives and axe fairly well and good functionality.

Seems to add a decent edge to my Fiskars X7 axe, and as a bonus I wasn't expecting has a setting for knives. While it won't sharpen a fully blunted edge it'll put a sharp edge on most things. Possibly a little light weight and won't resist rough handeling, maybe a little expensive for what it is, but does the job.

I bought the xsharpe for my fiskars x5 hand hatchet to keep a nice edge on it, i was quite dubious because of some of the negative reviews saying how flimsy it was. It does feel light weight and if you hit it with an axe it would crack but that won't be happening and if used correctly then it is a good piece of kit that will keep your axe very sharp. All you have to do is place your axe into the cutting groove, slowly move your axe forward, no need to push down on it, then slowly move it backwards towards yourself, do this motion of back and forth slowly say 5 times forward 5 times back, your axe edge should be very sharp once more. You can also sharpen knives too, you push the side of the xsharpe across and the cutting groove will change angles and be ready to sharpen a knife, I sharpened 4 Mora knives with it using the same method I sharpened my axe but only moved it forward 2 times and 2 times back in a slow sawing motion, all knives are now razor sharp with no damage. Don't push down just slowly move forward and back, the ceramic stones inside will slowly sharpen your axe or knife. You could even take the casing off and dab a damp cloth on the stones to wet them a little as you would with a sharpening stone. If you want a quick and easy way to sharpen an axe or knife, if used correctly, this does the job.

I love Fiskars products and have a number of them including X27 and X17 axes. I thought this sharpener may draw upon the sturdiness principles of those yet whilst the sharpener seems to work the actual construction is incredibly flimsy as mentioned in a number of other reviews. It is extremely lightweight and of brittle mould plastic construction and the internal components don't scream longevity. after the first use the spring dislodged leaving the sharpening groove stuck between the knife and axe options. I managed to fix it however I would imagine there will have been, and will be many who would opt for the bin or return option.

I bought this product as I had a holiday approaching on a Scottish island which would need a quality kitchen knife sharpener and I was also taking a hatchet too. For years I have carried a knife sharpener in my suitcase for use in holiday cottages as I am a firm believer that people are more easily cut by using excessive force with a blunt kitchen knife than the appropriate pressure with a correctly sharpened one. Of course part of the problem with holiday cottages is often poor quality steel too and so a couple of my camping knives thankfully came on this last trip too. Interestingly the cottage was equipped with one of this sharpeners competitors and I was pleased to find that my purchase had been the correct choice. I would agree that this sharpener is bulky both for packing and it would not fit in my kitchen drawer but it is certainly a joy to use and the results are good.

Bought the Axe Sharpener to sharpen up an new axe that when bought was a blunt as my girlfriends forehead, its lightweight yet quite sturdy and if used properly is great for sharpening the knives in the kitchen. As for the axe it’s great for general sharpening but you will need a sharpening stone if you want to get a proper edge and point on it. All in all it’s a great little product and for great value for something as cheap as it is. When the grinding stone runs down I will definatly be buying another one!!

This is a surprisingly sturdy sharpener which will keep your axe and knife in tip top condition. Its not a miracle worker though and won't bring an edge to a blunt blade, it's back to hard work and a whet stone for that job. However, if your knife or axe already has a good edge, it will keep it shaving sharp. After quite a bit of use, my Fiskars axe will still shave the hairs off your arms after a quick sharpening with this. It comes apart easily to allow for cleaning of the sharpening wheel. I was a little dubious about how strong this was going to be but I can't fault it.

Build quality is solid, five stars, as expected from Fiskars. I have concerns about the sharpening angle, for my knives and machete. And my axe doesn't fit inside the notch, so no axe sharpening for me.

Ürün sorunsuz elimize ulaştı. Hem baltalarda hem de normal bıçaklar için kullanıyoruz. Ön yargılı olarak işe yaramaz sandım ama çok başarılı, özellikle baltalarda ve kurban zamanında çok işimize yaradı-yarıyor.

Te sirve para cuchillos y hachas,afila muy bien, cómodo de tamaño, me lo he comprado para mi y otro para regalo.
