Can anyone help with how to put the 2 pieces of tubing together please?

You don't put the two pieces together. You get two different sizes for different bottles you may be using. Confused us too ! Larger one fits my 1000 litre keratase

Anybody know what type of plastics are used in this product? I'd like to know if it is food safe.

could this be used on Tresemme 900ml bottle?

Yes. I bought these specifically for those bottles and they work although I had to trim the tube a little at the bottom.

Would this work on a squash bottle to help children make their own drinks ?

Unlikely as the diameter of the squash bottle is not the same as that of a shampoo bottle, also I think you would require a different type of pump dispenser more type specific. Thanks.
