A great VR adventure combining the prehistoric with the futuristic
I didn't buy this game at launch because of the many negative reviews, which were mainly concerning the price (49GBP) in relation to the size of the game and VR sickness issues. After waiting patiently for a whole year for the price to drop to 16GBP I thought it was about time to pick it up, and for the money I'm not disappointed. To address the issue of VR sickness, most VR games offer a variety of control mechanisms to negate this, and for me personally, using the 'pie chart' rotation mode and 'keep direction' strafe mode causes me no ill-effects whatsoever. It's only when I try 360° free movement that I start to feel sick, so I avoid that at all costs. The game only allows you to walk slowly, another bugbear of many low score reviewers, but this is another mechanism to prevent sickness and is not unique to this title. So with that out of the way, how does the rest of the game stack up? Well, for the most part it's a fairly linear exploration experience, that involves figuring out how to get from A to B by solving some fairly simple puzzle-like problems and plenty of climbing around. The visuals are amongst the best of any PSVR title so far and is about as close to walking with dinosaurs as you're ever going to get. Your robot companion (which reminded me of Wheatley from Portal 2, only not as funny) stops you from being too lonely and offers help or advice when you need it. You also have a 'pet' baby T-Rex, who will join you for the odd game of hide and seek when he's not getting himself into trouble. Overall, I can understand the disappointment of anyone who paid the original price for this, but if you can pick it up for the same price I did then I highly recommend it.

A beautiful game but wait til its in a sale before buying :)
I had been looking forward to playing this game since it was released however the whopping price tag put me off. I bought it half price in a sale and it is definitely worth £25. The game is very beautiful and emersive though it should be noted this is a puzzler adventure game game not an action advent game but that suited me just fine. The wildlife and the interaction is really nice and I like the mixture of walking, climbing and sliding down vines in the jungle really fun and immersive. The puzzles are simple yet challenging and often it was a fairly simple thing you needed to do but took me a while to realise. I think that's a good level. I dont really suffer from motion sickness in any vr games though I do get stomach flips and butterflies sometimes. I can feel a little groggy if I've been playing too long so I'd suggest short bursts of 20-40 mins at a time playing this game and it does tend to save at points where you think that's me I've had enough for now. I've given the title 4 stars because although I liked the game I wouldn't have paid full price for it. The game is relatively short maybe 4-5 hours but still plenty to experience. Lots of wildlife to discover so there's stuff to do alongside the actual storyline. It's probably one of the most interactive games for vr at the moment and getting to stand next to a huge dinosaur and really feel the scale of these animals was amazing and that's exactly what I was looking forward to.

Robinson the Journey: BEST IN VR GAME
This is by far the best experience I have ever had. The attention to detail from these developers make this game a fantastic, immersive environment and I honestly love every second of it. I have played it over and over again and would recommend it to any and all VR players. One of the things that I love the most is that I am not forced to slaughter anything. It is a story of exploration with just enough drama and suspense to get the heart racing, Every time I play I find something new. I hold any and all VR games to the high standard of Robinson the Journey and I hope that more developers pay attention to how much detail and work went into this amazing game. Open world, explore as you will .. interact with almost everything and solve the mystery. I was so impressed. Would give it 10 stars if that were possible. ** for those new to VR .. please take the time to adjust the settings of the game in order to get the best VR experience for you. The developers have taken great pains to ensure everyone can have a positive experience so do yourself a favour and go through the settings carefully before you jump right in there.

A nice little game,
Bought this while it was £25 after hearing it was rather short and boring. It's probably the best LOOKING VR game for PS4 so far, but the one thing I don't like about this game is that you can't use the MOVE controllers to interact. It requires you to use the Dual Shock 4, and aim with your head. So you have these awkward floating hands in front of your face. It seems like it SHOULD have been a MOVE controller game. A lot of the stuff you see in the trailers is NOT in the game, this is annoying and a little dishonest.

Oh look! A dino...bleurggghhhhh!!!
Having been a great fan of dinosaur related adventures (Jurassic Park, Dino Crisis etc) I couldn't wait to get in to the immersive world of Robinson: The Journey VR. The trailers looked fantastic with threatening creatures looming over you; the fact that these don't actually feature is a bit annoying. However, the major problem with the game is that I can't play it for very long without wanting to lie down for a few hours, vomit everywhere and die! It isn't immersive at all as I need to take the headset off every few minutes to acclimatise. In relation to other games, I struggled with Battlezone for the same reason and could barely make it round the track on Drive Club... It's not as bad as that. Those are the only games I've had issues of motion sickness with. Oh, and Luge from VR Worlds... That was horrendous. The game itself is pretty good and looks very pretty. I just wish I could get fully immersed in the experience without the real world spinning!

Just not that great (for me)
I bought this much later than the initial release so I recon it would have had more impact if you bought it at the beginning. the world itself is very nice but the controls and movement are very long winded and not that great. There is no run option and you have to slowly walk around everywhere. Visually was great but I got annoyed with the controls and slow movement. If you want an epic game to play on VR then I can highly recommend Astro Bot or Moss.....Both a masterpiece in what VR can be

Absolutely and deeply disappointing in every respect - I feel terribly ripped off
Some unstructured thoughts about this "game": - this is not a full price title, despite the price tag, it's a tech demo without a story line - barely playable due to bugs and awful game mechanics - has got literally nothing to do with the incredible trailers - unimaginative, boring, but pretty tech demo - you are forced to walk slowly at all times, making even small journeys take ages and lowering your willingness to explore - totally static and linear game play, well you can only walk a few meters and climb a few cliffs and trees anyways, there is nothing dynamic about the tiny world, nothing that makes it feel alive or makes you feel immersed by the world - the game has no death animation ie jump off a cliff and there's immediately a black screen; juml into water - > black screen; ... - please let me repeat that you will not find anything you've seen in the first trailers in the actual game I simply can't image any scenario were you wouldn't be utterly disappointed with this purchase. I preordered it after having watched the trailer without further research as it looked amazing and none of the other VR games on the demo CD was the type of game a was looking for. If I had done some research I may have known about some of the points above.

this is one of the better games for PSVR
As far as VR games go, this is one of the better games for PSVR. It has problems but I still recommend it, The story is just ok, but the VR world is detailed but the missions you do are just a bunch of tasks to unlock more of the short story. Don't expect to play it more than 4-5hs. It's still an interesting example of where VR games will go in the future when they are given bigger budgets.

Fantastico gioco ma motion sickless dietro l'angolo
Gioco coinvolgente e fatto molto bene, vi porta in un mondo preistorico, veramente bello. Purtroppo ho dovuto restituirlo quasi subito in quanto dopo mezz'ora di gioco soffrivo di motion sickless.
